I just heard "Natural Blues" (#ooh lordy trouble so hard#) by Moby. He was *everywhere* for about a year.
which was followed by that comeback song.
i just can't remember who did it.
"I'm the Leader of the Gang"
hardly hear that getting played any more
LADY! HEAR ME TONIGHT!
Who Let The Dog Out (Woof Woof Woof)
Moloko - Sing it Back
actually loads of these are wetherspoons tunes
i thought you all loved wetherspoons
they also all turn into clubs past 8pm on fridays and saturdays
also, i'm saying that you lot don't mix with non-indies/go to regular, proper people places
i never got why dissers are into spoons with all the piles of cash they have lying around. is it a kind of reverse poshness thing?
i found a picture that sums up dissers
the person throwing the brick is a disser (posh) and the car is working class people
I CAN BUY SHARES IN WETHERSPOONS? Fuck.
my link is not an endorsement of Wetherspoons. I think they are vile, as are all their customers.
was taking the piss
"In addition to our Wetherspoons pubs, we also run Lloyd's No. 1 bars -- the same great standards and value, but with music"
i knew all along.
shame you lot think i didn't and got all defensive about your precious spoons.
pretending you think that wetherspoons have music
Rather than a full-on Spoons? I thought the whole point was no music, no TV.
there were playing that 'everybody in the club gettin' tipsy' song the one time I've been in there during their disco nights
see also Turn Around by Phats and Small
Loved that song.
Shanks and Bigfoot
music sounds better with you
do you really like it
sweet like chocolate
hey boy hey girl
my love by kele leroc
you don't know me
truly a golden era
i guess with garage getting popular the last three years or so some of these are played ironically. sweet female attitude have been doing PAs again.
For every Groovejet there was an I'm Outta Love; for every Lady there was a Man I Feel Like A Woman
my mam used to get me kiss fm/pure garage/now dance cds at christmas because she wanted them for herself
Phats and Small always looked like such a pair of dorks
I know he sold out the O2 ridiculously easy so still must be really popular but honestly forgot he existed
(Is he still relevant with the yoof or have his fans gotten older now? Would be interesting to see the sort of folks at his gigs now)
is a staple of background music for things like X Factor
*My Name Is plays in the background*
*unlikely-looking chicken factory worker stands still whilst all the other contestants whizz around him*
"I'm Paul, I'm from Bradford... It's always been my ambition to sing"
The intro to that is used as the stirring backing track on loads of things: http://youtu.be/hO2wA0Te0wM
I meant My Name Is ... though yes, Lose Yourself is used as a tense build-up track. My Name Is - more likely to be used for some comedy chump.
he recently sold out Wembley in about an hour or less or more
Should've looked it up, couldn't be arsed.
to reconnect with his fans?
And then doing wembley?
using the kill bill soundtrack to promote any sporting event
(just googled it and this came up http://www.theguardian.com/music/2013/dec/13/2013-year-of-piano-house)
that man from bristol
huw stevens was saying it had the piano house sound about a song he played on saturday
that one last/this year that went 'do do do do do "yeah"' or something
so - that.
I like to part-ay-ay-ay [mm-hmm]
but does anyone remember when Over and Over by Hot Chip was EVERYWHERE? According to wiki it only got to 32 in the charts, but in 2006 I just remember hearing it in shops, on TV trailers and TV shows, on the radio etc ALL the time. But you never even hear it on 'Absolute Radio 00s' these days.
plus we play it in the wedding band I'm occasionally in. DENIED
really really awkward
Semisonic - Secret Smile
heard this yestertday in Sainsburys
Closing Time when it is indeed closing time = best pub.
there was a reference to it in a film I watched the other week. Can't remember which film. Something shit, I think.
but The Masses Against the Classes got to Number 1 and I dont know how it goes
It's so bloody great though, not heard it in ages.
except for that coda bit that lists all those celebrities and threatens to kick their ass in :D
thank fucking fuck.
We had a look at the lineup and Travis were on the smaller stage. Oh how the mighty have fallen.
THE COMEBACK STARTS HERE
I was like wo
Maybe you only know that if you were cool when it came out?
I wish this song had just disappeared, it only seems to still exist to soundtrack people doing stuff like kite-surfing on Countryfile.
You fucking squarial.
I like the way you move- Bodyrockers
Homebase still use it, I think
there was a time in the 90s where you couldn't watch a film without this (or six underground) featuring in the soundtrack
Plays music and has TVs, and is not a Llyods no1, can think of a couple in Birmingham too.
it's not on the wetherspoons website so there's no way of refuting you
If so, I'd nominate that.
Also that Simian Mobile Disco/Justice track, WE. ARE. YOUR. FRIENDS!
I was at the bar in the Afterdark and I jumped up in excitement and hit my head. This was 16th May 2014, I'm assuming that's recent enough to count as not disappeared.
Candle In The Wind '97
I'd like to see the airplay stats on that song.
And Gabrielle herself.
That one she did with him from East 17.
ANNNNNNNND IF YOU EVER!
reminds me of a time when I asked a girl out and she said no...
i hear a gabrielle song every day
Been a while
next you'll be telling me that Runaway Train by Soul Asylum is shit.
I'm gonna do this song
I'll play one part on one side of the shopping precinct and my mate will play the other part on the other side. Stereo busking
You know what - the indie night in Cambridge has closed down. So there's definitely a market for this. Fenino, then DJing. Though if we do the pub crawl as planned I may not be in a fit state...
Came on when I was in a shopping center the other week, hit me like a brick
there was a car ad using Right Here, Right Now a few months ago
with Lauren Laverne.
Which is odd cos she's been on what seems like every third BBC4 and Channel 4 program for the last 5 years.
