there's this man who styles himself as an old fashioned barber, calls himself "the demon barber", like sweeney todd. know of him because he seems to have a lot of friends in 'creative' circles, including a local magazine that's basically a giant advertorial ('love ne').
he purposefully cut someone's throat the other day and now his family and friends are asking for character references to prove that he's a nice bloke, really, on facebook and that this is out of character. they're all saying how he needs justice, neglecting to address the fact that he CUT SOMEONE'S THROAT, though?!!?!?1
when a family member has done something really really awful and the family still support them like they're great and they love them etccc. Dont think I could do that.
Worst was when that lostprophets guy was convicted and his parents said all they could do was support him whilst he was in prison etc. I would totally pretend he was dead
as several people I know are involved with the campaign against the charges. I don't know much about it other than what's in the papers though, apart from that it doesn't sound quite as clear-cut as you perhaps make out.
I got all confused by these barbers in Newcastle calling themselves 'Sweeney Todd' or the 'Demon Barber' - I thought at first it was this guy, who used to do my hair and who is a lovely old bloke: http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/news/north-east-news/barber-been-cutting-quiffs-generations-1461577
i've heard from people who were in the area at the time, too, but i've merely linked to the papers because there aren't many sources, and they're not *too* sensationalist (i didn't link to the daily mail's article).
there's just the two with sweeney tood association that i'm aware of, and there's only the one who has named themselves and the salon they used to own 'the demon barber'.
his friends and family are mentioning people begging and 'scum' - granted, there are a lot of people that beg on the corner of starbucks and shelter in the doors of the shops on grainger and neville street, but someone's throat was cut on tuesday at 5 in the afternoon.
bit weird when people defend criminals like this, by saying they're 'sound' and 'cool' and 'dapper', as if it voids any crimes they've committed because it's seemingly out of character.
this wasn't a one-off incident between the guy who was hospitalised, and Dobrodumow. Robert Smith had been physically and verbally abusing customers and staff inside and outside of the shop on several occasions after Dobrodumow had reported him to the police for repeatedly littering the shop doorway.
On the day in question, Smith attacked Dobrodumow while he was shaving a customer and a fight ensued, during which his throat was cut.
From there it's up to the courts to decide what happens. Neither of them can be called criminals yet. It's possible that after this, both of them will be.
Most in need of a visit to their own profession
you always go to the barber with the worst haircut.
