salt & pepper squid - either the best thing ever or worse than finding blood in your piss. never anywhere in the middle
So fucking good when they're right, so easy to turn into a soggy, doughy mess with a shithouse sauce though.
Basically anything that can be crisp or soggy
can be so good or so bad.
Like, I love the seaweed (I know it's not really seaweed, but still). Sometimes it's really good and other times it's soggy or chewy.
Likewisevthe cripsy sherdded chilli beef stuff can go really floppy, when it should be CRISPY.
In fact this is common of hyst about all chinese takeaway food- it can go soggy if you're not careful.
So disappointing when it's just a sticky, sugary mess.
Takeaway from a decent Chinese and a poor to middling Chinese is like night and day.
and they had deep fried the beef so much (this was edinburgh) that there was no discernable meat inside the batter. It was still fucking brilliant, notwithstanding the evaporation of the beef.
I am stuck at my desk so hungry, I want chinese now.
unless it's been specifically recommended. It's difficult to get kebabs wrong.
Just had one where the chicken was curiously grey in the middle. Occasionally brilliant.
I hate how loads of takeaways can get pizza wrong.
Also the aren't many kebab shops that seem to know how to make a Burger, I think I've found 2 kebab shops in Brighton that make good burgers.
