Kasabian streamed their latest
album on iTunes earlier this
week. Eager to hear some of the
worst lyrics of all time set to
music ("Everyone's on bugle /
We're being watched by Google")
we logged on, and we noticed
something a little strange.
The album is titled 48:13, after
the LP's running time. The wanky
artwork lists all of the tracks'
lengths. Yet something doesn't
quite add up, as the times that
iTunes lists only total 48:06.
Suspect itunes rounds down to the nearest second?
while Kasabian are adding together the rounded figure for each track.
being kind of a big deal
because of the ire
it provokes in DiSers
who would rather
listen to some mope
who goes by the name
of a woodland creature
which ought to have been extinct
West's album prompted Pizzorno, whose "first instrument was a sampler", to really push the band's hip-hop inclinations.
"They were always there, but now they're leading the charge." To the extent that 48:13 barely resembles a rock album at all.
"God knows what it is," says Pizzorno. "There's guitars on it - but I don't think it's rock. It feels new, that's what it feels like."
is what it cost me to have my roof repaired after i listened to this album
