would stay up the whole night or catch a few hours kip before hand?
at sometime between 3:30 and 5:00 am.
Sleep. Always sleep. But then if you're not having to do the driving, you could sleep on the coach instead I guess. How long's the journey?
traffic will be dead though so will probs be shorter. Will definitely sleep. Plus then i've got two hours on a plane to sleep.
The issue i have been wrestling with is getting from where i live to victoria at daft a clock in the morning And i've always been worried i would just sleep straight through if i have a quick hour at home. Ah well.
but it never happens. Think my mind/body goes on to high alert knowing I NEED to get up, so I normally wake up just before the alarm goes off.
Feel absolutely fucking dreadful though, obviously.
is spend the previous day doing loads of really knackering stuff, thinking 'haha, I can trick my body into being tired and ready for bed at 8pm, thus securing myself what passes for a whole night's sleep', and then not be at all tired by 8pm or for another few hours so just going to bed at the usual time and then not being able to sleep because I start stressing that, in my especially tired state, I will snore through the alarm, eventually spending the entire next day feeling far worse than if I'd just behaved normally and concertedly decided to pull an all-nighter.
is that i have leaving drinks the night before! Will i make it?!
(yeah all nighter sounds reet tbf)
sleep on the coach
Then have stomach cramps in the morning because early travel makes me incredibly anxious and the coach trip itself would be a white knuckle arse-clenching nightmare.
Well, you did ask.
i'll have enough fright at take-off to worry about the coach trip.
I'd try and get sleep when you can before you get to where you're going (night before, coach, plane) however if it's a long haul flight then you could use the night before to prep you a bit for jet lag.
get a decent 4-5 hours kips easy
Drink a tonne of vodka, pass out on my mate's living room floor and miss my flight
could be broke before i even go on holiday.
I'm planning on staying up for ages the day before, sleeping early that evening then waking up early and heading down to the coach station.
straight to airport for 6.45am flight after seeing Cloud Nothings finish at 3(?)am.
Felt horrendous, but totally worth it. I'm sure some sleep would be better than none. Depends if you're changing time zones when you travel, I guess.
1. Coach from Victoria. FOR: cheap. AGAINST: will have to be up really fucking early.
2. Train all the way from home. FOR: minimal effort. AGAINST: will get to Luton at 7.06am, meaning any delays or whatever and I'll be fucked.
3. Taxi to London Bridge and get an earlier train. FOR: will deffo get there in plenty of time. AGAINST: ££££
4. Night bus to London Bridge, get an earlier train. FOR: will deffo get there in plenty of time. AGAINST: will take ages and will have to wake up really fucking early.
sleep > money
can you sleep on planes?
and it's a short flight.
and when i get there i have allocating sleep time until the evening (i'm going to a music festival and there is bugger else all to do in the city).
also: just seen the price of the train. think i'll be getting the coach after all.
Where is the station in relation to the airport?
so, just the first
"Print your boarding card and present it at the boarding gate together with your travel documents no later than 30 minutes prior to the departure of your flight!"
to get to the boarding gate.
Hmm I reckon you'd be okay in 85% of cases.
don't fucking book really early flights far away from where you live
You have 6 days to decide for me.
Currently probs gonna wing it and do 2 at the moment, though FUCK ME the train to Luton at 6am is horrifically expensive.
5. Start your holiday a day earlier. Stop in a hotel next door to the airport the night before. Get up at semi-reasonable o'clock. Grab some croissants, fruit and juice on your way out. Trot across the road. Win.
and get a hotel nearer the airport than it was to get a morning train
they're a waste of time, expensive, and way more hassle than they are worth
Even if you only get 2 or 3 hours.
You'll thank me for this advice, verbs
if it's a long flight, stay up then try (and fail) to sleep on the plane.
if it's a short flight, get whatever sleep I can.
I couldn't stay up till 4am unless I was out on the piss and even then I'd struggle.
Just go to bed at 9
(btw, I do this about once a week, but with taxis to the airport)
Probably going to get very drunk beforehand. I don't think the 5 uncomfortable hours kip I'm gonna get will be enough.
And then you have Jabberlolly to look forward to!!!!!
So I'd probably stay awake. I'm quite good at being nocturnal when it requires it.
at 6 in morning photo that will be snapchatted
Given when I get to the other end I'm going to to be drinking for about 48 hours constantly I think I'll have to skip it this time :(
Got annihilated and went to Victoria at 2am. It was a nightmare. Could barely walk. No idea how I got to the airport. Woke up in Poland. At the correct airport and on the correct flight.
It makes the journey go quicker but I wouldn't recommend it.
and stayed up when I was living in manchester and going to meet my parents in gran canaria. I have the vaguest recollection of swigging cava straight out of the bottle and orange juice straight out of the jug in the airport lounge (it will have been about 7am by this point), and them asking me to board the plane last please thankyou if you wouldn't mind, Miss. My memory is then completely blank until a massive thud, which was my plane hitting the tarmac in las palmas and I woke up and burst into tears because I'd no idea where I was , why I was on a plane and it took me a few minutes to remember that I was on holiday. I then had to stand at the carousel waiting, HOPING that I had taken a suitcase with me. I had, and to spite me it was one of the last ones onto the carousel. to this day I don't know which of my friends packed that case for me because it definitely wasn't me (it had sensible stuff like cotton buds in it and pants that i would never wear on a holiday!!)
Moral of the story, stay up. It always works out ok in the end.
