Bore dA. Morning.
it's noisy back in London after 2 nights in the middle of nowhere
went to Westbay this weekend, obesity levels off the chart!
Where did you go?
Off this week and hopefully moving so sorting my stuff out. Watched the new GoT it was great. Got to clean the house which is a BALLACHE
it’s my Friday today and although I’m very pleased with this fact, it’s also the first working day of the month, so I have countless month end reports to produce in a much shorter period of time that normal. All this means that whilst on a Friday, I like to hum, It’s my Friday and I’ll skive if I want to, today, I’ll be firmly engrossed in some serious anti-skiving.
Melt Banana were good but the venue was beyond rammed, which was less fun.
I had to learn and put into practice Japanese business etiquette on Friday. Great bunch of lads, but what is their fucking obsession with business cards.
Also, at lunch I got asked who the most famous Japanese in the UK was. My brain screamed "GODZILLA!!!" so I kept my mouth shut.
Out of politeness I asked the opposite question and, after a moment's thought, the guy said "Daniel Craig and Sherlock Holmes"
Nearly fucking lost it right there.
the people of the UK.
it was really cool. It had a caricature of him on the front and was a playing card. He didn't seem fussed on my comment when I said, ' Oh you really are a Joker' but it was a nice card all the same. And he was quite hot. I couldn't stop looking at his side parting though.
In a black and white floral shirt, if that was him.
I definitely saw internet celebrity thewarn, though.
so i dressed for rain and it's SUNNY
Still suffering today, my temples hurt and my eyes are just holes in my face. Chin up though eh.
First five day week in ages too, urgh fml.
And back in my overdraft with no income which means the bank are going to start ringing me
painted the shed thing - (needs another coat)
went for a good run through the hills of lewes
caught some rays
went to the pub twice
saw some friends
had some nice food
back in the stupid office now tho
On the plus side I just want to brag a bit more about how I met Russell Brand's dog last night. It was so amazing. Like a cloud.
went on a date where we strolled around southbank in the sun, it was ridiculously busy but otherwise pretty good.
Sunday went for a run, played planetary annihilation, did lots of laundry and booked tickets to see Jenny Hyval and Agathe Max.
ridiculously boozy weekend. Started on Friday night knocking back 'picklebacks' (a shot of pickle juice followed by a shot of bourbon - surprisingly nice) at a pop up BBQ place and finished by necking my own body weight in old speckled hen with the thinly veiled's folks yesterday for no good reason. I feel like one big slouching hangover in a badly ironed shirt today.
Just seen a sign that they sell cider. Great mood today.
Few beers fri night
Sat climbed a hill with some of the boys, pretty fecking steep at points but the view from the top was amazing.
Barbeque and beers sat night.
Yesterday sat about and watched the tennis
Off to london for field day this weekend coming hence the chilled nature of that weekend.
How are you M, did you have a good b'day?
my birthday was outstanding. i was very lucky to have such wonderful people around me in both London and Wales. My mum bought me a record player too which was a massive shock and she gave me a surprise birthday party (unfortunately I was horrendously hungover from celebrating the night before and had to travel London - Wales whilst throwing up in the train toilet.
I just bought loads of bagels and cream cheese from the shop (whilst trying to hide my embarrassment of my dress blowing up on route). I'm gonna eat 'em.
well maybe apart from the throwing up on the train, but at least that way you know you're doing it right! :)
in an airport. going to madrid.
could be worse.
Where is everyone? :(
So paying £50-ish in travel costs just to be told "yeah, nobody is ever going to employ you."
Got turned down for volunteering the other day. How even....
*Please note nothing in the Real World actually exists
Something will come along though don't worry, just continuing what you're doing and actively looking/applying for stuff is most of the battle
It kind of sucks though because there's something I think I'd really like to do, and for Reasons it's unlikely I'd ever be able to do it. And so I don't know whether to give up the idea and just look for things I could tolerate, or spend the next couple of years getting my application in better shape, even though it's super unlikely.
I was happier when I thought I'd hate every job, tbh.
Turbowolf, Dinosaur Pile-Up, Crazy Arm, Exit_International and Baby Godzilla = all good eggs.
Sunday was a quite one, read Dune and had dinner with the parents.
Had a terrible night's sleep though; had a dream I'd been attacked by a cat.
I quite liked them when they first burst onto the scene. Then I found the album a bit disappointing. Then I pretty much forgot about them.
as one of them left his keys in the middle of a field. At about 2am I woke up to the sound of him screaming which made me panic. About an hour later I was woken up again by the sound of foxes fucking. In spite of this, however, I'm feeling fresh as a daisy and off to see Melt Banana with my Dad tonight, which I'm really excited about because we haven't been to a gig together in ages.
I don't know what's wrong with me, but I get nauseous about 10 to 15 min after I eat anything. I have google doctored myself and so far I have had: Perforated intestines to celiac disease. Any other not so dire options out there?
Went to Abney Park cemetery yesterday, it was lovely. Spent 30 min playing fetch with a random Rottweiler whilst her owner sat nearby.
Also, saw a group of Goths lurking amongst the gravestones. Living up to their Stereotype. Especially the girl dressed in a long-sleeved green crushed velvet dress with a chocker and bad pale make-up.
It got really bad on Saturday.
I've been stubborn in the past about going to the doctors unless I'm on death's bed. Better you go and get it checked out now. It could be an intolerance or something - keep a diary of what you eat maybe to see if there's a pattern of some sort.
I seriously hope it isn't an intolerance. I eat a lot of wheat though, may cut back.
I will call the doc today.
GERD, I was diagnosed with something similar last month and was prescribed some medicine which helped a lot. So I'd definitely recommend going to the doctors.
though I don't feel any acid reflux, just a setious case of nausea. Like now. I ate breakfast at around 9am and since around 9:30 I have just felt dreadful. Constant nausea. I've been drinking water to try and relax it.
Doesn't matter what time of day.
back in the office after a blissful week in barcelona.
feel a bit tearful.
just had a conversation with the boss about how my role needs to shift from comms/media/creative and into more sales.
new job ideas please.
I just ate a pork-less pie. It was nice.
it was wonderful.
non-musical highlights included cava on our roof garden, an infinity pool at a 5 star hotel, an incredible vegetarian meal (mushroom waffles etc) and the general loveliness of being able to take my fiancee around the city for the first time (i go every year, her work always prevents it apart from this one time).
even the storms were good.
i like a pork-less pork pie, well played.
What bands did you enjoy the most? Could kick myself for not being more organised and going this year.
but was alone in that at least in my group.
superchunk were absolutely joyous - the perfect sunset band.
john grant during the thunderstorm was a great experience.
the national were stunning as were NMH and i really enjoyed what i saw of chrome.
i left NIN after 30 minutes to see mogwai and i couldnt be happier with that decision - they absolutely kasabianed the last night of the festival.
shellac great as ever, kendrick lamar superb fun, climax of arcade fire's set was spine-tingling.
think best of all were the 2 sets from volcano choir who were incredibly special.
staying for cut copy and having a massive dance-off nearly made us miss our flights home but it was worth it.
the clashes were brutal this year though - missed so much but can't complain.
i saw twilight sad for the first time and it was unbelievably beautiful.
Friday I just played the new Mario Kart all night with occasional diser/lurker Timmy_L. Saturday I met my GF for lunch at a nice pub I'd never been to before (The Lyndhurst) then went book shopping. Yesterday she ran in the race for life and raised £400 so we got really drunk to celebrate.
My head is absolutely killing me today, I don't really get headaches when I'm hungover and otherwise I feel fine so it must be a brain aneurysm or something equally deadly.
watched loads of stuff I've been missing and got down to some job applications. On the other hand, it was quite boring.
Saturday night was good though, hung with some mates and drank PLINY THE ELDER, the 2nd best beer in the world. We also played Cards Against Humanity, which is awesome.
But it was good for a couple of hour's laughs between mates.
But even then... generous.
I'm v well tired. v well.
And the guestlist for Field Day has 'closed'. :( Fuck you, Monday.
Was pretty good actually, not nearly as many human abominations as I was expecting. Might go back this weekend.
Went pretty much every weekend last year. Have yet to go this year, need to sort it out.
WE NEED TO GO BACK KATE.
The pub next to it was alright to. Something dance school. Full of babes.
think they're opening a club downstairs soon or something.
Was at a party with your two former housemates (J & T) in Dalston on Saturday night, incidentally.
I miss those rascals!
need a cuddle because i cried when i put the bins out. i'm going to have to try and ring my consultant's assistant because my right arm has been really tender in two places since thursday, as has my shoulder. i think it's myositis but i don't know if that's because of my lupus and arthritis or just fibro so i'm unsure of how to treat it.
Went to some good bars, ate some good food. Saw some dogs I hadn't seen for a while. Solid.
FAO of Lo-Pan and PickledOuef, I didn't end up in Bamboo on Friday after all. Ended up going next door to some club called Kokomo which it turns out is exactly the fucking same as Bamboo! Seriously, like right next door to each other, carbon copies. Same music, same awful clientele.
Worst of all, the people who actually wanted to go there were the first to leave. Was not impressed.
Needless to say I had a shit time. Company made up for it though and dinner before hand at the Tea Rooms was excellent so all in all not a bad night.
let's see to it next time that you end up in sleazys, stereo type place! :)
it was excellent
