This is the Tuesday banal thread.
I love the name Corky
You can't pull me in with this one.
When the icon or imagery for a thing is based on the tangible equivalent of doing that thing, even though that thing isn't a thing any more?
Erm, thanks in advance.
It's a good word, and an even better meaning.
I'm finding it really hard to google...
Fucking jesus fucking christ.
And a long time before floppy disks got in on the act, too
I thought this the other day. Got a chilly reception when I offered the opinion to the office...
you show something is a film by pretending to roll the film through manually. That kind of camera probably hasn't been used since the 40s?
there is no chain - she's just confusing them (I'm ok though)
Did you check it all went?
No. That's the bogs problem, not mine.
Just read a job advert saying "please apply using our electronic recruitment system".
WTF? So they mean online. Like everyone does. That advert is clearly written by someone 50 plus.
Then I'd defo apply
When you've got a new job and nearly quit the world of offices forever? WELL I NEVER.
COME "WORK" HERE
Oh, hang on.
Not really, an e recruitment system is different from emailing a word doc which is the standard, might involve setting up a username etc
I thought you were going to say, "Isn't it weird how British Gas are STILL using The Universal on their adverts."
why do people think tape is still a viable storage format for music playbacks? Because people are scared of change
still use pictures of big old fat crt tv's to illustrate televisions. it's still recognisable, but only just. the kids laugh at it. understandably.
there will ALWAYS be a 3210 or some shit there, ALWAYS.
When was the last time anyone saw a 3210?
but i'm thinking of adverts for whatever (like a local or charity service, or sutin) and they superimpose something onto the phone screen. that's when they be using images of mobile phones with aerials and suchlike.
also, ^that sentence. who says 'superimpose', rather than just 'photoshop'?
you're still saving to disk
