OK, I'm gonna post spoilers in here, so don't read any further unless you've seen the film.
Godzilla (Gojira original name), king of the monsters. I really would like to know how long Godzilla was actually in the film. To tease and tease the fight till the end is a good way of building up the tension, but when they pull away so many damn times and the MUTO and Godzilla actually fight, you want to see that, not the aftermath, as happened a few times.
Bryan Cranston was excellent in this, which I was quite surprised, as I still remember him as the Dad from Malcolm in the Middle. Actually, he's the best thing in it. (Is it just me or was his death almost completely cast over?)
The son I just did not care about, in fact I really wanted him to die at the end, cos he was so terrible and wooden. Ken Watanabe just looked like he was trying to fart all the time.
The fight scenes are ok, but waaaaay too short. The final fight which the whole film built up to just seemed anti-climatic, I wasn't really invested in it.
Pacific Rim, which is much more over the top (which I loved, btw), did the fight scenes much better.
