because you shouldn't really. what does it matter? all that anger is bad for your health.
i'd like to know if anyone is genuinely a really angry person, because, if they are, surely posting here could be bad for that.
what i'm saying is, drownedinsound breeds too much worthless anger and probably a lot of self-loathing
take the site down, sean.
over the dayglo bike nonsense. mostly due to c_r sticking his fat nose into shit.
turns out he is in fact a massive fat cunt who doesn't say thank you for stuff, so I guess that makes me some sort of winner.
hathead pissed me off that day too...but we're now great buddies.
bought joy to so many, i know i left work with a smile
When are you next joining us for DiS Football silks?
Looks like adybongo's got the 20th pencilled in for the July game.
are THE BEST <3
and he wasn't a fan, then we met and had a drink in Exeter and he almost fell off his chair when I told him who I was because we were getting along famously.
Silks = top guy.
I feel a slight burn
i assume the peeps who do get dead angry about stuff on here have some other things going on that is stressing them out, and this is just a place to let off some steam over their repressed issue or somethintg
I don't even know anyone really, it's hard to get emotionally engaged
I do get annoyed at my own posts sometimes though
....now the fucker's a mod, what does that tell you
can't think of any other time recently
I only popped into this thread so I could see exactly how much I needed to crane my neck to see the height at which I usually am
I add them to this list: http://drownedinsound.com/community/boards/errors/4446349
until the day
I think I got slightly irked in a thread awhile back but then I realized the other person had just misinterpreted what I was saying.
mostly just miffed when i make myself look stupid
occassionally it goes too far to one extreme and loses balance and harmony
*kisses kitten, dances in hay*
but that was a long time ago. I'm a much calmer person now.
when they constantly change user names.
sounds a bit wound up
I know that's not very cool and means I lose at the internet or something but I don't want to be cool. (I really do want to be cool)
But I get that in real life too, and that's my issue, not theirs.
The properly thick ones don't think they're thick so won't think this is about them. It's perfect as it is.
Twitter, Facebook pages, comments on new articles, however...
i'm not, really.
I am a heap more chilled these days. I still like a good debate/argument but I don't get the angry eye twitch thing or yell at passersby afterwards anymore.
the whole feeling a bit low about dis thing, I thought was kinda fair enough. If people you met and knew on here were passing around shitty pms that is a bit cunty.........obviously my public response remains very much 'lol mate chill out it's only the internet mate lol, looked proper silly there lol!'
does this mean i can PM you to talk about my feelings from time to time*?
*daily and also right now.
of course you can, anytime mate *sends permaban request to Fidelcatstro* :)
"It's a protest piss, guys", I say getting my sheets out of the washing machine, "It's just a protest piss."
but it's understandable that people do, we don't all approach the site with the same mindset
I think it's kind of insane to believe that people can't be affected by what they read. Otherwise, literature would leave people numb, for instance.
One observation is that while some work out their issues by being angry on here as budget has already pointed out, it's been more and more clear that others are antagonists for that same reason - a need to vent and general insecurity.
Those who use the boards as a playground to antagonise regularly are more worrying than those who get het up from the antagonism IMO.
I get called all many of nasty things on here, but being offended or upset is the problem of the person on the receiving end, not the person dishing it out. I have no right to not be offended.
People seem to forget that not only is DiS not the real world - it's also in no way representative of wider public opinion. The things that 'matter' on DiS have very little impact outside the forum walls.
When you log in to DiS you're entering a skewed sense of reality where the centre of 'acceptability' (for lack of a better word) is way off kilter with society. If you spend enough time on here it can be easy to forget that from time-to-time and become upset by things that you probably shouldn't if you want to remain sane.
what a guy
there's an eerie sense of pride in the caricature creations they've taken solace in on here. Anger, self-loathing, superiority. We all display it from time to time but some seem to have got a stage where being on DiS and in and of itself appears to be defining. Which is unhealthy and just sort of desolate.
The assumption of an audience, the dehumanizing factor of not being around people you're talking to, added pressure of very quick communications that are stored forever.
It's all just shabz and bants at the end of the day.
you're a character
Him: 'your dog is in the garden'
Me: *looks out window* "No she's not"
i used to do that trick all the time.
great trick - one of the best
big fan of this
you probably speak to more people on here than you do your work colleagues.
Also, its really hard to detect tone here sometimes. So I automatically assume that everything a handful of disers are saying is really rude/sarcastic.
but when they do, boy he's gonna get it.
by when some people act like complete c-units whether that be being misogynistic or when people's appalling acts in their personal life spill onto the forums for all to see.
I don't think this is an angry place. My wife reads the Daily Mail website. Now that is an angry place. I read the Guardian comment is free- that is an angry and pretentious and snobby place. Yuck.
Sometimes these forums can be a bit snobbish but usually someone bursts that when it's happening, so a mild irk is as far as it would measure on my anger-richtometer.
any IDIOT DICKHEAD who has anything positive to say about Dyson. Balonx excepted, on account of that hot air balloon ting.
Guess it comes down to how happy and busy you are. Irrelevant shit can quite easily displace actually important stuff if you're a bit fed up.
i think dis is a pretty nice forum and you're all a nice bunch of people.
