Watched this last night and I was completely blown away by it.
Why aren't there more movies with this kind of candor?
but seem to be in the minority.
without being accused of being melodramatic. Personally I thought it was a spot on balance.
It's on Netflix US for anyone who hasn't seen it yet.
Couldn't agree more with that review. I think Nate was underdeveloped, dropping him here and there was a shame but I still think you got a sense of growth.
Brie Larson owes this movie, I've not had a performance like that blow me away since Winter's Bone.
it helps that everyone is GOOD in it, but she just smashes it.
I felt it lost its way a bit towards the end but Brie Larson is amazing throughout. And looking back it's cool to spot supporting cast from stuff like The Master and Brooklyn Nine Nine in it.
I'd also recommend The Spectacular Now - both equally brilliant.
It was a very interesting look at young alcoholism I think. It sold itself differently though.
thought it was amazing from start to finish.
