This could actually be pretty good, y'know.
all the random nods to batman, despite bruce being 10 years too young to actually be batman. someone commented somewhere else it would have been more interesting if they'd killed bruce wayne along with the parents, and have an all new plot line, without the shadow of batman over the series.
Maybe it was the dramatic music though
in the "canon" timeline is around 18 at the youngest (when he gets access to the Wayne fortune) and in this he looks around 10. that's a whole lot of TV to go through before your Bruce Wayne is old enough to be batman
like Smallville ended with Clark becoming Superman (I assume, I never watched much Smallville).
This story is about Gordon, not Batman.
but that's not why everyone's going to watch it, is it?
Everyone's going to watch it because it's a programme about Batman that doesn't feature Batman?
- people aren't going to watch a show set in Gotham about not-Batman
- people watch shit shows all the time
- making a show set in gotham about gordon is like setting a show in Metropolis about Jimmy Olsen at college. they've got their work cut out for them when they're focusing on something that isn't what *most* people want to watch*
*and i say this because i can see that they lack confidence in the idea. it'd be more interesting if it were actually something different; like i said up there, that bruce was killed, or below that his parents weren't, but instead we are going to focus on something that is oddly inert, and the constant reminders that Batman WILL exist kinda takes the jeopardy out of the series.
so you're not actually saying that 'everyone's going to watch it'?
i stroke one's chin.
is a Young Alfred Pennyworth series. Like, what did he get up to as a Teenager? Was he classically trained butler at the Savoy? Was their any Royal appointments?
Come on, Give us Batfans what we crave and lust after!
I'd like someone who wasn't complete fucking loser to start up a 'joke' account. I'm sure it used to happen.
Don't be so rude!
that said the first episode should end with the Waynes leaving the opera, a mugger pouncing on them, but NOT killing them, so that for the rest of the run you have this ticking clock running, waiting for them to be killed.
The whole thing sounds silly to introduce basically everyone in the rogues gallery, they should have used the pre-Batman stuff to come up with new things, with rare and meaningful allusions to the big names that would come up later.
it's like Batman Babies
But it was clearly massively popular. Maybe this will follow the same feel.
a generation of mouthbreathers, myself included, dropped a whole load of lobster sauce on kristin kreuk
Although your language is admirably flowery.
Batman's dad looks like Seth Cohen.
they should have made the entire cast people who used to be on the OC
that foxy blonde seth started seeing as poison ivy
sandy just chilling out somewhere with a surfboard...oh man sandy was so cool, i used to wish my dad was as fly as sandy, and that he would come home from work and then ask if i wanted to go out surfing with him, instead he just came home, cracked open a packet of peanuts and sat down in front of the tv :(
luke would make a good henchman
Surprised no one's asked him to play one before.
It's just going to be a bunch of badly shoehorned in foreshadowing of stuff.
"Good afternoon doctor, how's the research going?"
"Ice to see you!"
"I'm afraid my research is getting something of a..frosty reception!"
"Why are you talking like that?"
"There's no business like snow business!"
"You're a fucking weirdo Fries."
to say that I like the idea of it being about Gordon, not Batman. But you're all talking about Smallville anyway.
Another way of looking at it is, people like them, let's make some more of them.
Fucking hell NO.
No no no no no no no no no.
Enough of these shite films forever.
where batman's parents don't die, so he remains bruce wayne and he's just a dickhead maybe some vigilantes are always up in his face for tax avoidance or something idk
(I've not watched any of it)
