Spring/Summer Clothing Audit
Feels like it is time to freshen up that wardrobe. What have you picked up or are on the hunt for?
Bought a new spring jacket at the weekend, Levis, £90, more than i usually spend but just felt class when trying it on so had to go for it
dark grey flannel shirt
black t shirts.
same as winter but without the hoodie on top
that's what i already wear
on the hunt for more black t-shirts though
don't feel like a bit of colour for summer?
my trainers are white with red and blue flair
Bought a suede shirt/jacket the other day
Most expensive item of clothing I've ever bought but it looks and feels amazing, so worth every penny. Just hope it doesn't rain too much over the summer now...
bought a burberry second hand trench coat
wore it the other day with a shorter skirt underneath, someone thought i looked like a flasher and had nothing on underneath.
I need to get some new old clothes. I'm bored of my clothes. I did however buy a nice pair of 50s style skinny jeans with turn ups a few weeks back though. I need to go shopping.
Also need to find some shorts or cullots or appropriate bike wearing clothing too.
I bought these at the weekend...
for my holiday:
http://www.sunspel.com/uk/mens/swimwear/sunspel-swim-short-cobalt.html
I usually wear polo shirts, Sunspel Riviera or Fred Perry Laurel Wreath, with a pair of jeans / chinos / linen shorts topped of with Persol Sunglasses. If it's chilly I'll don my nice Dunhill Harrington Jacket I've had for years.
I look like I should be promenading in Cannes, rather wandering around Bolton.
i know DiS is the land of the £100 face cream but...
£120 on a pair of swimming shorts?!
...are they £120 of spandex/lycra?
I did get 20% off with free delivery..
been coveting them for ages, still it's only around 10 rounds of toast for the LME.
they look very tight
I think they look nice and tailored..
I'm bored of the baggy longer board shorts. I always end up with a stupid tan line half way down my thighs. I'm really not into speedos, so these are a nice compromise. I think I'll look great, with any luck.
calm down mits.
Coveted them for ages?
They're literally a standard pair of plain shorts, no special fit or anything.
Could have got same thing for a tenner in H&M
Not meaning to piss on your chips
Glad you like them though!
Thanks...
Sunspel clothes are just really well made and last for ages, they always fit really well, it's all in the tailoring. I don't think the 10 gbp shorts from H&M would be anything near these. I also like the fact that I'm buying from an English heritage brand, where most of their stuff is UK made and the rest hasn't seen a sweatshop.
They look like a good fit
£95 for a t-shirt
http://www.sunspel.com/uk/mens/medium-woad-t-shirt.html
Medium woad though.
I mock, but I have added this site to my clothes shops bookmarks. there's some nice looking stuff in it
i need clothes in general
have about four outfits on rotation (three dresses, multiple versions of the same skirt and tshirt)
actually i need to do an underwear audit more than i need new dresses
Asdas
Really surprisingly does really good underwear. Lovely bras and matching pants and stuff.
every time I go clothes shopping I feel disgusting
i get some ideas in my head
then wander about aimlessly and sack it off as i cant be arsed
as a result everything i have is super old
Gotta buy some serious suits soon
SERIOUS SUITS.
when the weathers like this though, I get to show off my extensive collection of form fitting blazers.
Mad Men type suit goes a long way Moker
Yeah, defo
Single breasted, thin lapel stuff. Also, the more city look is in, like this:
http://eu.suitsupply.com/en_GB/suits?prefn1=collection&prefv1=Spring%2FSummer
swoon
The best thing about the site is the videos you get with each suit
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fZrf4XO3aGM
this guy's hilarious.
"With this suit I can go straight from the office to the cocktail bar".
Cheers mate.
"With this suit I can go straight from the office to the cocktail bar, and get laid."
i'm all about single breasted slim lapel suits
pocket squares, crisp white shirts, skinny ties and awesome shoes
lovely
I am going to start looking for a new suit soon
will have a look around that site.
Off the peg, then custom tailored to fit proper.
Proportion of people wearing suits/dressing formally for work
dress well
don't bother
i realise it's possible to dress well and not formally
I just haven't done this very well at all.
Jeans always, shirt maybe once/twice a week, T-shirt rest of the time
They're usually smart-ish tees and jeans though, as tee and jeans go. Was told to dress "smart casual" when Princess Anne was coming in, but they didn't specify further so I just stuck to t-shirt and jeans (cos fuck the royalty, maaaan), and then wore one of my smarter shirts the very next day to rub it in.
I have to
Plus it makes me feel better when I've made an effort.
I'm trying to wear my winter coat for as long as possible
even though it doesn't fit quite right
I've been using Thread, just to get some extra suggestions
had some pap, and some gems, saves me going and actually looking for stuff, I've been surprisingly impressed.
https://www.thread.com/SbUu5445031523
Ha, I use thread
Bought a couple of items from there actually - Both shirt - both fit really well. ASOS. They're cheap but suit my body type (small and slim but no six pack - hey ladies).
It's ok, but it's more of ideas as I'd never buy expensive stuff from the internet as you can't try it on.
i used thread for a bit then realised that i could just browse asos myself
It's filtered and also covers high street stores
and I'm lazy, so that's perfect for me
i get how it works, as i said up there i've used it before
but found that it ended up just recommending loads of stuff from asos and not that many other places
What I mean is, you can get rid of ASOS though
if you wanted?
I get quite a good mix, but if I just kept getting topman stuff then I'd filter it out or whatever, then maybe browse there myself separately or something.
Also, if they're offering you things you like, then it means you don't have to scroll through 10 pages of shirts or something.
Each to their own, obviously, I personally have found it pretty useful so far.
nah i think it was good as i like a lot of the asos stuff
i think i was almost sub-consciously filtering out other stuff, maybe that's why i wrapped it as it was making aware that i only buy about 80% of my stuff from one shop! :)
That makes sense
To be fair, everything suggested that I have liked has been from two or three same places as well, one of which being asos. Never really bought from asos before as I used to try and peruse but disliked their website for shopping - Don't really know why.
I prefer going in to a shop and trying things on
As apposed to online purchases.
I do buy crap from ebay, but quite often things don't fit me because I'm big in some places and small in others.
Yeah
I know asos seem to have a decent return policy, but most other things I'd probably go in and at least try on and either buy there or if it was cheaper online, come back and buy later with the knowledge of it fitting.
FOR MEN ONLY
They're trying to start up a women's section I believe
It's a lot trickier I'd imagine
just went through all the sign up on this
the live chat bit was hilarious
seems quite handy for suggesting things, nice one
When I signed up no one was there for live chat
what happened?
My stylist is called Sophie and she is very nice.
(but I'm not sure she's actually real)
it was one those autobot style
'live chats', total nonsense basically
i heard an interview with one of the stylists on the radio
THEY'RE REAL GUYS!
Was it Sophie?
Sophie is actually Ravi
I also got Sophie
I just a wee swatch at this as well, i too got sophie
it was rather bizarre, i was expecting some thing like sophie suggest type screen, not fucking live chat.
I politely in a hugh grant kinda way fumbled about for some words and said goodbye
Forgot DiS might not be the best place to share something
which involves talking directly to someone
;)
aye, at least give us a fucking heads up
:)
Got scared and clicked off when the live chat thing came up
Posted a cock pic up there first of course.
Brooke!
Gave a dummy email though, so that's the end of that for the time being.
probably a casual shirt maybe a polo top I've got nuff t-shirts really
and another pair of jeans, really like jack & jones jeans so I'll probably just buy another pair of them.
whatever fitzcarraldo is buying, i'm probabl;y buying something similar
:)
i'll mostly be buying more blazers that i don't need
couple of pairs of tailored shorts for going on holiday and another pair of air max, sound awright? ;)
i'm a definitely in the market for some tailored summer shorts
so aye, sounds good champ :)
just bought these
http://nk_wp_media.s3.amazonaws.com/files/2014/01/nike-acg-lunar-incognito-purple-orange-2-620x412.jpg
because I'd like a rugged but comfortable and lightweight summer shoe for outdoorsy stuff and walks that don't involve climbing up mountains.
kind of like those
always had an issue with 'walking shoes' that i think stems from kids who wore them at school getting picked on
those crossover quite nicely, could be useful for some summer walking plans i have
Got these today for running in
http://sneakernews.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/nike-air-pegasus-30-vivid-blue-volt.jpg
take it to the cool but practical thread mate!
They're nice
hate getting my legs out for the first time
and I have nice legs
I'm looking for a summer jacket
for work an play.
I don't wear a suit to work.
99% of my wardrobe is size Medium
and I found out about 9 months ago that I'm actually supposed to be Small but I can't afford to buy any new clothes so fuck off I'm in a shit mood now
Nah, that's a happy problem and an easy fix
1. Eat a lot of shit
2. go to the gym and do nothing but weights
3. Wait a couple of years and you'll probably naturally just get a bit bigger and fill 'em out
think i might be verging on Small
Small t-shirts feel way too short on me though, always worry about them riding up
bought
some jorts and a fedora.
i'm set.
According to my bank statements I spend, on average, £400 a month on clothes
Wtaf. What is wrong with me?
Going to try and not buy anything new until the autumn now
:-0
excluding work stuff, i've probably spent about £400 on clothes over the past 10 years in total.
Bought these the other day
http://www.artoftrend.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/adidas-skateboarding-busenitz-vulc-2.jpeg
i'm wearing my 10 year old pair of jeans right now
you can see my groin if you look close enough but that £115 in 2004 was well worth it. only owned 6 pairs of jeans in the last decade because good denim lasts ages.
really want lots of thin shackets for layering. saw a good chambray shirt-parka with a hood on the internet that looks amazing but it's only sold in new york or japan. usually save my money for winter sales bc in scotland i can wear AW stuff all year round but i'm over being sweaty. want some linen. gonna buy some loud shirts in the sales this summer.
Need...
A new pair of jeans... maybe two.
Trainers - fairly conservative ones that I can wear to work, but also when going out (we have a relaxed dress code in the office).
Maybe a pair of black brogues.
Prescription sunglasses.
Moker, that Suit Supply place looks the tits...
http://eu.suitsupply.com/en_GB/suits/washington-blue-stripe/P3846.html?start=3&cgid=Suits&prefn1=collection&prefv1=Spring%2FSummer
Yes please.
fair enough.
but put some fucking socks on, for the love of zeus.
