Love in the Time of Cholera will always be one of my favourite novels. The man wrote with such incredible empathy and understanding. RIP

100 Years of Solitude is probably still my favourite novel. Absolute classic. What a body of work the guy gave us.
He had a good innings and produced fantastic work, though. Not a waste.
Ramones - I assumed the same about his books until I read solitude on an offchance, and it was so very very far from the dry literary slog I thought it was going to be. Recommended.

Love in the Time of Cholera and 100 Years of Solitude though....fucking amazing. You're a fucking, fucking idiot if you let such petty ideas getting in the way of reading them.
wrote my advanced higher 'dissertation' on 100 years of solitude, and it was one of the things that got me properly into literature and writing about literature and shaped quite a lot of my tastes and ideas for quite a long time after
