Gather round, folks.
saw an old bloke pissing on a vauxhall vectra on my way to work, LME4LYFE
zero plans apart from some physical fitness at lunchtime
Might to Wetherspoons curry pre-gig/club thing tonight.
This post needs more love.
Probs for early May. Anyone interested, let me know.
Alas my sister is the cyclist in my family. She's cycled from London to Paris. She's mental.
Looked into to doing London-Paris, but other stuff got in the way. Would love to do it one day though.
so he might be able to help with advice from experience as well
with the fucking largest and tastiest fillets i've ever managed to find from the fishmongers. fucking AAA+. then cleaned the house and watched the TV version of Pride and Prejudice.
Today; homemade hotdogs for tea and yoga.
I am looking for a one/two night stay somewhere in Scotland in May. Any recs? Within two hours of Glasgow would be good, and cheap as you like. No camping/wigwamming though.
proper bleh. still BRITISH SEA POWER tonight. at the koko. never been there before, should be gd.
i won at chess last night which was good because my opponent was old and a pain in the arse.
I love BSP though - hope it's good!
Hate the Koko.
guess it's one to tick off the list, though.
if anyone wants to nab it.
i'm too old for that, a bar-hawk now.
(im still going, unexpected dropout)
Which was nice. Bit hungover today though. Fairly sure I saw Elthamsmateowen in the Oakford too.
I also saw the dude from Pete and the Pirates who runs that Shed cafe. In fact one Saturday evening he followed me around Reading and even to the Afterdark.
<3 DiS spotting.
a long time ago now.
otherwise I would have possibly figured out a way to say hello
it does look like he was in the Oakford last night.
You should have said hi. I was there.
My friends band were playing, but there were some issues with the sound guy and everything which meant they weren't going on until (or intill, according to the Oakford) they were actually due to have finished - so I had to go get the train home and I missed them.
Had a good burger though, and Brooke had the pickled monter munch burger - that was nice and I got a little jealous.
also seemed to have just randomly left out the word 'onion' there as well.
I played there a few times in an old band, and it was weird playing in the middle of a bunch of people who are just there to eat burgers.
Only about 10 people gave a shit. Very, very odd. They were really great.
on the plus side, because it's narrow and by the station, it doesn't take much for it to feel full.
Is very weird though, especially with the audience area also being the only route to the downstairs and garden so people are walking through constantly.
we got off the train with all our gear, piled into a taxi and asked him to take us to the Oakford Social. He got really confused and didn't know what the hell we were talking about. In the end we looked up the address that we'd been given and gave him that. He drove us round the corner, dropped us off at O'Neills and eventually we found our way back to the venue, which was directly opposite where we'd picked up the taxi.
but you left pretty much as soon as I saw you. Also I didn't really want to do the whole "Hey, I know you from the internet" routine when I was on a date :-)
how did the date go?
Shame I had to leave really, what did you think of the last band? Not my cup of tea tbh but the Bassist is one of my best friends and the rhythm section are tight and they have good energy.
I'm pretty excited about the whole thing actually.
Yeah the last band weren't really my thing either, I'd pretty much written them off as soon as I saw they were all dressed in matching outfits too
Yeah I've said about that to my friend as well. Not his band though and he's just happy to be playing again as I think he was about to sell his bass and all his equipment.
Good news about the date - best of luck with it all. :)
I can feel the weekend coming but I Preordered the Mars Volta Deloused repress AND the New Boris LP today (take it to the music board Spicer) so I need to be sensible really. Park drinking shouldn't be too expensive though right?
Tried to get in early today so I took the train instead of walking, which then stopped outside london bridge for HALF AN HOUR.
But you know what? I don't really mind. In a good mood.
Had a strange eye contact with my aunt's parish priest, Fr. Simon last night. On my part, it was because he was walking down the high street in full cassock and dog collar, looking like the killer priest from Da Vinci code and I was like WTF?! Not sure what he was thinking but it lasted for ages and then he just looked down all embarrassed. My aunt, who saw the whole thing just smiled and said, 'he sings the gospel beautifully, y'know'
I found it quite funny and I text my friend who works in the school and said I think Fr. Simon fancies me and she said, shut up he always looks at me like that so don't think you're spesh. She said his sermons were really good. Might start going.
My problem is that I am literally full of shit.
that doesn't sound very good.
can't believe they didn't suggest it.
are you having to do the 2 litres of lax?
proper appt next week, healthy high fibre diet + lots of water and a food diary until then.
this will basically be fine until I get to my buddy's mexican themed birthday this weekend and eat nine pounds of chilli and seventy-three bags of doritos. may have to accidentally smudge the entry for that day.
(genuinely surprised by the low number of this's, btw =D )
and may your bowels have satisfying movements.
The Mexican food could potentially accelerate everything. Either way, may the gods smile on your bunghole.
(I think maybe it was too easy?)
*warning: quite rank post follows*
ripped off half a toenail last night. lots o' blood. great banter.
sounds lovely japes. where did you end up for dinner?
just went to stereo lol
i always find the soup is good in stereo
Turns out it was just a fuck up (not mine) in reporting that something got done. The actual thing got done. We're fine.
But that's me spent for the day now. Done. Nearly shat myself.
nice day innit
did a good run yesterday - screenprinting later, going for a walk at lunch, just this awful void of WORKTIME i have to slog through
am going to listen to some new music and do some personal emails and research running clothes
I am back in London after my day of working in reading. reading was nice, had widescreen monitors, little park outside the office.
last night i dreamt that I bought a world cup sticker album. things happening on DiS are getting into my subconscious :/
was ace, Andy was on fine form. Kept referring to the bassist as the evil priest. Knives was so vicious \m/ B-sides sounded quality and they even played Misery off of Infernal Love! Top stuff.
Lonely the Brave were great too, proper intense.
My body feels like it's about to collapse in on itself.
La Poste seem to have lost my boomkat order, it's been 10 days since it was dispatched. Annoyed. I want my Ben Frost and Perc fix.
Merzbow tonight, should clean my ears and head out.
should i bring my dancing shoes?
It's Gilles Peterson, who does a sunday residency at this pretty nice club/bar. Could be fun, usually really laidback. Plays lots of house, jazzy stuff, hip hop, soul etc.
If you're up for it that is.
cool, sounds good. haha, couldn't think of a more fish out of water scenario.
on Monday should be fun.
reminds me of when I saw Skullflower play in St John's in London, where Bower proceeded to inform everyone that the candles he was burning contained real blood.
Will probably got to Terminal Cheesecake/Action Beat on Saturday and am increasingly tempted by Thurston Moore and Lee Ranaldo with Group Inerane and ELG
Good run these next few weeks, also have Flower Corsano Duo and Brotzmann/Noble duo
on Monday supporting Tim Hecker
Work has been disrupted this morn as the police are in and asking questions as the unit next door was tanned.
Off out for a curry with some friends tonight, probably result in a drunken one, i'm not complaining.
Big industry do last night (well, all week) rinsed a free bar, did some dancing, hopefully didn't make a fool of myself. Someone told me I could any age between 22 and 40. Someone else tried to head but a guy - twice! It was quite the evening.
maybe Monday next week would be a good day to not booze?
Ich bin anxious
seeing the Manic Street Preachers tomorrow.
"yeah I know we don't support this but can you try and get it working"
yesterday morning i woke up in the south west of france so everythings a bit shite COZ ENGLAND.
Actually, i need to watch the new GoT. Oh and I have these so life is great, really. http://www.thefrenchiegrocery.com/293-342-large/lu-petit-ecolier-white-chocolate-biscuits-150-g-.jpg

Housemate is giving me a drum lesson this evening, then we're going to eat chilli, drink beer and watch A Field in England.
Looking forward to a day of GBV madness on Saturday.
came out finding out I have seborrhoeic dermatitis.
Now I'm working from home and i'm STARVING
Just remembered I've got a smear test on Tuesday. Nice.
and use special shampoo :(
Ooh lovely. I had my first one not too long ago. It wasn't as bad as I thought.
Anything on this weekend that a one-day travel card wanker like myself might not know about?
http://londonist.com/2014/04/pedal-along-to-the-uk-handmade-bicycle-show.php << might be something that'd interest you? It's at the velodrome ffs.
think its still on
and busy tubes all over the place.
But just been in a 3 hour meeting, so about time. Got another one up soon :(
Off to Bristol for a couple of days with Mrs C_B (forgot to start a things to do in Bristol thread). Might just drive back and forth over the suspension bridge for a few hours.
I'm just having some slices of apple with almond butter on.
SOAWABO. Which makes me think of Susan Boyle.
what happened? are you ok? :(
:( an air ambulance came, but he was dead already - they did the zippy up bag thing. That's not nice, is it.
