Something something pulled beef
but we talk about London round here
or the new posh one
must be well confusing if you knew the city before. I had the same problem with the new one in Bristol.
And I thought London was cool when I was 8.
Completely irrationally. My dad worked in town but every few months he's have to work at his company's other office which was in Leeds. It would mean he'd be back too late for a bed time story.
Now whenever anyone mentions Leeds I do a little Pavlovian sad.
Mainly a football thing. Also I was at the Brudenell recently and in the bar someone said they hadn't heard of The Fall.
I like the place.
Bit bored of manchester now
going to leeds (and bradford) soon
i like it more than manchester and london, so there
I live there. Nuff said
Will always have a lot of affection for the place - we're a self deprecating lot. Make sure you visit the Media Museum georgiabeth, used to work there and it needs some love!
Was at the Oldham game on sat and they were chanting 'Bradfords a shithole, I wanna go home'. Them and wolves fans were the only ones to sing it this season - glass houses and such and such
that can seem to do a 'Rios'-type nightclub correctly.
is 'jake bugg' a band?
The vodka revs is good.
So I'd say, yes it is worth it.
love going back
Good gigging scene, I know some nice people there. Except they aren't actually from Leeds.
Went to The Cockpit to see Steve Mason. Hadn't been there for about 8 years. Was amazed how much it still stinks of piss.
Good gig though.
Here, for example is a 12 page thread of Leeds scenesters trying to out indie each other over beef burgers - http://www.leedsmusicforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=54261
it's pretty pleasant though really, can't imagine anyone strongly disliking it
the Brudenell's ace (probably better than anywhere in London), the Town Hall's great for classical stuff, you've got the Cockpit as well which is alright, Hyde Park Picture House is a nice little cinema (and the bigger ones are all obvs cheap), lotsa decent pubs and stuff, the market's good, and there's a museum where you can go and look at badly-stuffed animals.
Maybe it was just the university that was shit.
But it can be hard to see the band properly if it's packed.
fucking straight edge kids, ruining the music scene lulz
I used to fish the canals all the time and then stop off for a pint or two in nation of shop keepers,
