First time I saw someone on ketamine, they looked like they had died and the corpse of rod hull had put his hand up their arse and was doing the best a dead man can do to make them talk and move.
Might be a bit dangerous to have going on in public? Lost a bike because of it once.
Can only see it offering the same relief to depressives any downer would, possibly causing some kind of routine based reliance on it. Especially since it wears off so quickly. But maybe it does have some special properties, I can imagine it helping people with bad nerves.
Still might be funny to see people dribbling and falling face first into tables more often though.

we use Ketamine frequently in medicine as sedative & analgesia usually in A&E/ICU setting. From tiny babies to older patients.
Friend of mine was an A&E nurse; he carried the stuff on him constantly, because it was the first thing they'd give you if you came in after a car crash or something. So much so that he'd forget he had it and walk out of the hospital with a vial in his pocket (he never shared; bastard).
