what is happening? Will this rinse my data? Should I be scared?
I got it on my new phone, went out for lunch and tried to listen to something on Spotify and it wouldn't play well at all, kept stalling and buffering. Switched back to 3G and it worked a treat.
This was on Oxford St in Central London btw, where I'd expect a decent signal.
I always found 3G on 3 being as good as I needed internet on my phone to really be
that even though it would become faster it would be almost pointless to make it so.
I used my 3G phone as a hotspot and did a speed test and was getting 4mbps from it, there isn't really much you can do on your phone that will need more than that. I guess it's more about preparing for future things
Was excited when 3 gave me 4g but ive noticed no difference really. Even with torrent speeds
Btw I have had my galaxy s4 since july and I still can't get over dloading torrents on my phone :D
I find websites to render far faster and streaming to be far more responsive, whereas before their always felt to be a delay between wanting to do something then the phone getting the data in order to do it. Since o2 introduced 4g in my area everything feels more instantaneous. I'm guessing it mostly fixes latency issues.
I noticed the difference in 3G speeds between Orange and 3 when I switched over being far more noticeable than 3G to 4G with 3 if that makes sense.
maybe O2's 3G was really shitty or their network is more congested because more people use 02 or something, I dunno.
no more worrying about getting apps to run on wifi only and cheking my data
i burn 5 gb a month sometimes, FIVE GB
it's exactly the same as 3G. EXACTLY. they just made 3G shitter so you'd think it was amazing. if anything i use less data now.
