this saturday, folks.
Who's your bunce on, hun?
Last year I don't think any of the five favourites even finished.
I've gone Teaforthree ante post at 25/1 (now 10s) and Cappe Bleu (33/1).
Tempted by Balthazar King following Cheltenham. Also Triolo and Monbeg Dude.
Basically, select 5 horses, go each way with a bookie paying 5 places, and cross your fingers
can never predict owt with it.
Mountainous looks a value at 40-1.
won the welsh national so has form and engine #kingtipper
As soon as the markets open everyone absolute hammers the internet's (particularly twitter's) selected horses and the prices crumble and there is zero value in the market off the bat
Had Seabass 2 years ago, and Cappa Bleu last year.
Not decided on this years yet, but this thread has encouraged me to have a look.
Always a good chance for some cash money, especially as I got fucking DONE at the Dubai World Cup on Saturday
Excellent each way bet. True stayer, not the quickest and young for a national horse but has been taking on older horses in marathon tests for a while now- Jim Draper has said it has never finished a race tired, which he says is "extraordinary." Travelled well in Irish National as a 6 year old until it had to be pulled up when the saddle slipped; was favourite for this year's Welsh National but bad weather meant the ferry crossing was cancelled and it had a 48 hour journey to the course that was like something of Sport Relief and understandably ran flat. One run since then, a spin over hurdles to show there was no long-term harm done; ran 2nd to Don Poli (giving weight away), who subsequently went out next time and won a Cheltenham Festival handicap hurdle by about 5 lengths. Is currently 41st in the list of entries, so just needs one to come out and will be in with an absolute feather weight. In summary, my record in this race stinks and you should ignore all the above.
Already down to 2/1, will probably run off evens on the day
the new one £10 (888 enhanced offer to 5/2 for new customers)
fox appeal £2
dyn/cal/ar/jet £3ew L15
Oscar Whiskey the best horse in fox appeal's race, but after Cheltenham i don't trust its jumping
Bit of a poor man's Cheltenham. The prices are absolute dirt
1/1 so far on the lukcy 15 *crosses fingers*
not feeling it
are doing refund of half your stake on all national bets until 5pm today
my Grand National Thread? got zero replies. I put a tenner on Triolo and a few each way bets on stupid odds horses.
The best betting shop manager I met in my tenure working for Coral was surnamed Schubler. For purely nostalgic reasons: Big Shu (each way though.)
what am i doing :(
It'll probably die.
Backed him last year and ran well then. Won his last four I think?
Just had £5 on Whisper to win the 2.50 and held on to beat out At Fishers Cross, who had a fair bit of money on him.
Forgot to mention Pineu de re, but had a fiver each way (yeah yeah, if you follow me on twitter I've been mentioning it). 135 beer tokens, obrogado paddy!
(though if i'd had done it with bet365 with the the drift to 25 I would've had an extra £50, dang)
saw me right. Cheers king tipper, wasn't on my radar, I owe you a pint.
2/4 of my tips didn't make the third fence...
all horses and jockeys absolutely fine, second year running.
They made loads of changes last year and it's loads safer now, as vindicated by the improvement in safety
now they can work on making the names funnier. They were quite shit this year; the closest to a name that I would have gone for on humour grounds was Shakalakaboomboom or whatever.
BUT I felt it was trying too hard and that the results lacked even the imagination one would hope for from one trying so hard.
A disappointing year for the sport.
Back over to you in the studio.
