how do you choose a card for mother's day
that isn't offensive unfunny or cloyingly 'world's best mummy'?
i just go for a neutral photo of flowers or something nowadays, is there another option?

It's en vogue to draw your own mothersday card
if you remember in time and some nice quality paper to hand
flowers option.
Grown-ups have no place buying cards with teddy bears on,
Roll a d20
I just ordered flowers.
Do we need a fucking card as well?
I just made one on
FUNKY PIGEON DOT COM
It was less than £2.69 delivered and I didn't even need to leave my desk.
Do they turn up with a typed message?
Or a shaky scan of your handwriting?
Either way you are a monster.
typed message, aye
GIVE A SHIT. I'm all about convenience. TBF Mother's Day is an actual load of shite and I wouldn't do it for a birthday or anything.
cards are so shit aren't they
nobody really cares about cards but we're hardwired to get upset if somebody doesn't send you a card.
and i know they're a convenient way of saying "look i remembered your [occasion] but i just don't care enough to send an actual present" but that doesn't excuse them. we should just send a chocolate bar, what if the big chocolate bar companies did greetings versions of the big ones, like birthday dairy milk, wedding twix etc. deep down even the most stubborn card enthusiast would secretly prefer to eat a fucking twix than look at a piece of generic card for 3 seconds.
Just been to Card Factory this very lunchtime!
So first criteria, a card that is under a quid.
Second criteria, one with an 'amusing' reference to wine on it. It's funny as my mum drinks so much these days that we worry she's borderline dependent and the humour lies in the fact that no one is comfortable enough to bring it up seriously. Lol.
1) go to paperchase
2) buy one of those cards with knitted animals or people on the front with a dreadful pun
3) send with a £10 next voucher
4) done
Does anyone actually like those Forever Friends bears?
they are fucking everywhere. Also, does anyone actually like those gut wrenchingly soppy poems inside the cards? Or do we just put up with it and the card makers haven't realised yet.
cute animals duh
The least shit one possible.
Was an EPIC challenge this lunchtime y'know. Went to 3 shops. Not a good card among 'em.
Look at cards.
Think about your mum.
Decide which card she might like.
Purchase card.
Send / give to your mum.
Went to Oliver Bonas and looked for the cheapest.
Felt pretty bad, but it's payday tomorrow, needs must.
It says "Mum in a million". It'll do.
you could write after
"hand shandies shocker" for a bit of light-hearted mother's day shabs.
:D
