it was a fairly positive budget
We were given a test on terminology, and asked "What are widows and orphans?" Someone answered "a newspaper's bread and butter."
it's drummed in so early on but the dailies are absolutely chock full of them. granted there's staffing issues but jfc
so I've taken to calling both 'bereaved'
but i no both are wrong. Might take your approach.
You know, to see what sells papers.
and change the headline based on sales data before doing a reprint.
Clearly they were nudged to change it in the later edition
and it seems fairly obvious that a headline saying `IT WAS HIJACKED` will sell more papers than `They're still looking at the debris guys`. Not sure you'd need a split test on that shit to work out what would sell more...
In hindsight I thought about how they'd quantify it and was at a loss.
The Times would consider a front page that criticised this government in the first place, they've become bigger cheerleaders for them than even the Mail.
