was the day I started.
Fuck that shit, what are you going to learn looking round?
The was no union to speak of, very little local nightlife and the halls were a half hour walk up hill. Everything in the prospectus was geared towards the main campus which was 10 miles away and around £40 in taxi. Stupid fucking London.
who the fuck decides to go to a university without even looking at a map of the place?
The only maps were done by the AA and Ordnance Survey and an A-Z would have been equally useless at pointing out pubs and clubs.
well done getting into the university
and shake the hands of all your new friends (i.e. every person there, no palm unshaken)
only if you plan on talking to someone
never had any desire to before like i didnt really know what it was (poor ignorant family) then because the school made us do ucas form and that i got accepted to a few and decided to accept canterbury just RANDOMLY.
First time I visited Canterbury was the day I moved in and the only belonging I had was a sleeping bag covered in dried vomit and an mp3 player.
but yeah you should probably go.
universities are different and somewhere like MMU (a city based uni) is very different from somewhere like Lancaster or York (campus based unis). Both have pros and cons (although in my opinion city > campus), and so it's worth seeing one or two.
(unconditional offer + not applied for anywhere else etc.)
but yeah i'll probably go thanks everyone cheers bye ta nice one cheerio laters
Oh, thanks for this core information now
they'll grow back soon enough
You are SUCH a Howard.
so just wandered around town for hours.
might give you the edge on making new friends if you do go cos when i turned up for the first day it seemed like loads of people knew each other already
for my first lecture i think everyone must have got there half hour early cos they were all already talking/sitting together, i turned up on time and it felt like i was already too late so i spent the next three years not talking to anyone.
