All the best to the other DiSers who are currently looking: it will be OK.
after 8 years. It feels terrifying / emancipating.
Lots of people told me to think twice about it. Trying not to listen.
I will be starting next week and now that I can look back over my 'time off' I think I have made the most of it.
Best of luck guv
How did you afford it? I'm a bit worried. All these damn people who are risk-adverse putting doubts into my head.
Fact: Every single person sitting in an office, working alongside you (as in "one") is an underachiever. Also, probably miserable.
I was lucky that I had 7 years service and a decent redundancy package so money wasn't a major issue (although it would have become one by Easter) so I was able to carry on with life fairly unhindered. That said, I was much more careful with money - little things like not using the mobile unnecessarily, making sure that I didn't waste food out of laziness/carelessness, stuff like that. There was always the uncertainty of not knowing how long it would take.
It sounds to me that you have not made this move lightly and you will be able to look back and know it was the right thing to do
what is the DREAM?
with some kinda freelance job to do with music and writing and music and or working somewhere to do with music.
Probably. Also, sport nutrition.
is that get a 3-4 day a week job and then build up that other stuff in the days off?
I'm sure that whatever it is will work out better than this creaking shitheap.
WANT YOU TO KNOW!
I take it the presentation on mobiles went well then
Well done. Enjoy the rest of your week 'off'!
