no other games to report on, other than Russia declaring war on Armenia
we can have two
to achieve this.
It's something we all have a responsibility to strive towards.
never heard the expression 'shoulders to the wheel' before.
Big Jock is conspicuous by his absence today too.
rest assured he can still buy and sell you, Percy
rren Fletcher. Lovely to have him back.
Leeeeeeigh Griffiths! nice you could make it.
should be an intersting dress rehearsal for the real thing.
we have to stream this via the mirror/ daily record site, is that correct? I'd better charge up my ipad.
Lewandowski and Blaszczykowski so we might actually get a result...
altohugh I am in two minds as to what is worse, psychologically:
1. a scotland team riding high from victory in a friendly = the fated complacency
2. a scotland team who get shoo-ed in the friendly and go into the competitive rematch with heads down= that old Scottish defeatism
I do genuinely feel though that strachan is the best man for taking whatever comes out of this result and manipulating it for the best.
and I'd imagine they (barring injury) would be playing in the qualifiers so it's not like we're totally showing our hand yet either.
I think right now any win is good for morale, and will at the very least give a good idea of what is to come, as you say Strachan should be the best at getting us motivated for it.
Of course I'd take a win.
This must be how it feels to support the English National team!
If we win tonight we should definitely start talking about our chances for the Euros in 2016, the 2018 World Cup and of course - 1967!
seceding from the overall UK football thread.
they would know that they actually play the speech from Braveheart as they come onto the court, no wonder support is so prevalent eh?
did they have the facepaint as well?
That's horrendous! :)
it's simultaneously the best and worst thing ever
is a cheerleader for them. She is SO hot.
but I always find cheerleading so cringey (although I enjoy them trying to put off free-throws)
all that pompom shaking, COME ON
That I possibly forgot to tell you about :/
(no wait- I think I asked you but you were away that weekend?)
She works in a bar in Bath Street, we should go and noise her up one night (FREE DRINKS FROM CLAIRE.)
Once again I'm very hopeful for the upcoming campaign - if only we had a decent centre back I'd be much more confident...
(this is why chicks shouldn't do football, huh.)
But so pleased he's doing so much better and seems well < 3
what more do you want
(i.e for Scotland)
he was never a footballer, let alone comparable to Cafu (or white)
He's generally still been pretty good for us from what I remember - especially in the two games against Croatia.
Fully accept he's still a bit a of liability defensively, mind.
all he does is be slower than everyone else and inevitably win about 20 free kicks which Charlie Adam consistently blasts into Row Z
(not sure why I'm asking, I hate friendlies)
I'm going to the gym, so it won't be on in there anyway.
glad Robertson's getting a game though, one for the future him
Excluding the current MacDonald's-inspired monstrosity (and the terrible red one that got us gubbed in Georgia a few years ago), what's your favourite away kit?
I loved this wee beauty:
guess it is quite rare?
It certainly divides opinion!
not that dissimilar to the current one really...
Also, it turns out we had rhubarb and custard strips at the turn of the century
tucked away somewhere at homer.
I'm going out at lunchtime today to buy my away strip. I suspect I'll be wearing it everywhere for a while as I'm a bit like that (I wore virtually nothing else but my Boca jnrs top and kilt when I got back from brazil. I get attached.)
but I remember there was a comedy sketch where you saw an artist carelessly flicking paint around before hearing him shout "I have just invented the new Scotland strip!" and then the camera turns round and reveals that 91/92 kit.
Lent has started, you know?
thanks for the update
Been one of our most consistent performers of late, and dont think he did too badly when he got called up in the Autumn.
we need any body.
the only two are Scotland and Russia
English footballer women do stupid things too! http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/26446213
I have 2 major annoyances about tonight:
1) I have no idea why Graeme Shinnie isn't in the squad (well I do, he's playing for us) but he's clearly been the best left back in the country this year. I like Robertson, but Shinnie has been better this year.
2) The game's only being shown on the Daily Rangers cunting site. Whats up with that? Why have the BBC not got it?
the thread seemed DOA, you've kept it alive!
so it's all one and the same, but if it's less offensive to your eyes, you can watch it here:
but aye, that's a wee bit better
What have they been up to?
You're not independent yet
But I'm hoping for a score draw and both teams leaving with confidence. Beat them now and we can wave goodbye to our chances of beating them twice in the Qualies.
Also... I like Hutton. Sorry.
"alan hutton looks like what would happen if all of mogwai had a child together"
I'm mainly thinking of the Thumb here, but we're no the bonniest team ever
There's no arguing with that
How good is Ryan Gauld? And the other Dundee Utd wonderkids?
Grant Hanley - future captain material?
Craig Gordon - where is he?
I don't watch so much Scottish football any more - make me feel optimistic about the future of the national team...
Basically the new Brazil 1970.
he was so great in his prime
you'll all happy to discuss little issues like "who's grenocks best left back?" but when the big issues arise, you have to come over to the real thread.
PO is going to be appalled
Can barely remember a time when we didn't win all the time.
Act of defiance
Let's discuss whether or not we can actually go all the way and win Euro 2016 and then who knows, there may even be a chance of the World Cup in 2018!! I mean, there's no reason why we can't win these tournaments, right?
And let's not forget that time we won at Wembley in 1967.
(For the benefit of the English folks on this thread - this is what it's like.)
