by saying that this film wasn't good
even though it is heinous. People still love that awful Aerosmith song. I can't imagine anyone holding much affection for its boring, bitter cousin Deep Impact though.
i was so angry.
They drove the fire truck under the thing, which nastily farts. Harry introduces a hose pipe as though it were an enema. The thing takes Harry inside, and then, when Harry is out and the truck is driving away, it explodes all over the place, sowing green goo everywhere.
Ira and Allison kiss, covered in green goo. Woodman fights the people who try to clean him up. Lewis congratulates the group. Wayne becomes a firefighter. Allison and Ira go to the fire truck to make love, so they don't take their medals.
The dragon-like animal flies over the three friends because... they are making a commercial for Head & Shoulders shampoo.
Mainly for the woman / acid interface.
Volcano with Tommy Lee Jones, on teh other hand.....
especially when she decides to stay in the lake a bit longer, rather than jumping straight up on to the jetty, deciding to walk all the way to the shore. Also she moved the boat all of about 3 feet. What a maroon.
There's a similarly baffling moment in Volcano where Tommy Lee Jones' idiot daughter and that Village Of The Damned looking blond toddler are stuck right where a building is about to collapse and he has time to run over there in super slow mo while she does fuck all to protect herself, and then when he does get there all he does is tackle them to the ground. He's covered about 300 metres, running in to a blast zone, and his big idea is to shove them to the ground a foot away from where they were standing anyway.
I also like that they tack on a moving indictment of racism in America.
I'm glad they included the bit where that rescue worker melts himself to death from the feet up rescuing the train driver. Also the other scene of how utterly useless his daughter is, where she's gone on fire and is just shouting "Dad hurry I've gone on fire!".
What kind of a dingus is she?
still haunts me
I reckon everyone who's seen it will have seen lots of other films, and it's too soon for it to be anyone's favourite.
taken 2: tooken
*or Anything with Shia Lebouf
Have you seen what Shia Lebouf has been doing lately? Doing an art exhibition, where you see him and he says nothing and has a brown paper bag over his head, it's called "Sorry". Check it out when someone confronts him in it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_6rDDZioHoM&list=UUOpcACMWblDls9Z6GERVi1A&feature=c4-overview
It isn't though haha.
Necessary Death of Charlie Countrymen was pretty good, but he did just plan a dirtier and older version of himself.
People getting stressed about it. Why? Let the bloke do what he wants.
Damn people telling other people how to live.
Was teaching some intro university course and asked students what their favourite film was, and it was Transformers 2.
Bad scenes man :(
To think that people are missing out on such great cinema, because that is the only legit reason why this would happen, ignorance.
in Indiana Jones IV was shit was it?
Oh yeah, it ruined the film.
it's not a good movie, but there's something fascinating about watching a movie with a dozen Oscar winners/nominees along with other A-listers make a movie well beneath their paygrade.
could easily see it being someone's favourite
was their favourite film, i would like them more. i would think "this person holds strong opinions"
but especially those where he plays every part
that'd be Eddie Murphy's favourite, obviously
the funniest bit in a film ever...
and I just wasn't expecting it and was in hysterics
Worst film ever.
and that's saying something.
said it before but the david cronenberg method seems to be that he can't make as wacky a film as he likes as long as he gets some big name shitheads to be in it so people go and see it
why else cast jude law?
Great but can't imagine anyone would pick it over night or dawn
not sure about Night though
might watch them all again at some point
could easily see it being someone's favourite film
