based on current form, what would your starting 11 be?
Flanagan Williamson Cahill Cole
Ox Rooney Sterling
who gives a fuck about defenders? I barely even know who Flanagan is.
Flanagan Cahill Jagielka Baines - jagielka is injured isn't he i dont really care about defence that much
Hendo Stevie G
Ox Rooney Sterling
Hart (City), Flanagan (Liverpool), Davies (Hull), Terry (Chelsea), Shaw (Southampton), Sterling (Liverpool), Henderson (Liverpool), Barry (Everton), Lallana (Southampton), Lambert (Southampton), Rodriguez (Southampton).
- but that would be a rubbish team.
England's strongest current XI is Hart (City), Johnson (Liverpool), Cahill (Chelsea), Terry (Chelsea), Baines (Everton), Gerrard (Liverpool), Barry (Everton), Townsend (Spurs), Barkley (Everton), Rooney (United), Sturridge (Liverpool).
Not sure why i included clubs. I think it was so people were sure i meant Curtis Davies.
i thought everyone figured that out after the 100th time he beat his full-back and then shat himself when he realised he probably couldnt shoot, then shot anyway.
-------- Flanadici - C. Davies - Tomkins -------
-------------- Barry - Huddlestone ---------------
-- A. Johnson - Noble - Sidwell - Redmond --
---------------------- C. Cole ----------------------
Not sure about that back four though.
flanagan - cahill - jagielka - baines
wilshere - kieran lee
adam johnson - rooney - sterling
Ive got a feeling he'd be dismantled in a world cup though :D
Sturridge is THE form English player, so has to start. But Rooney is probably the best England player, so he has to as well. England don't have two decent holding-ish players though, so he can't really play behind a striker so you'd end up shunting Sturridge wide and that's a bit of a waste. Eugh.
Plus, you kinda have to pick an inanimate carbon rod at right back.
that explained I think England would get fucking murdered playing 4-2-3-1 and pretty much need the extra midfield man of a 4-3-3 to stand a chance against teams that will obviously dominate possession against them.
at left back now hasn't he. Came out of almost nowhere that.
Obviously Bainesy's first choice because he's getting some stonewall Toffees pitchtime. But with the Colester you've got experience and reliability and 100+ appearances in a 3 Lions shirt! And then there's Young Luke Shaw who sure is piling in the impressive left-back performances huh.
Probably best to chin them all off and put Bridge in for LOLS.
sturridge on the end of every header... might not be that bad
Johnson - Cahill - Jagielka - Shaw
------Gerrard ----Wilshere ------
------ Rooney ---- Barkley ------
Forster, Baines, Flanagan, Barry, Lallana, Henderson, Townsend, Lambert
Yeah that'll do
Lucien went for him too. The people's choice - take note Roy!
Lets have crouch in CDM then. Why not
this is fun
Does FIFA allow that?
Just take Keith Allen, Chris Evans and Danny Baker along to make up the numbers. Bantsheaven
Who the heck is 'W-Prowse'?
What the hell is 'Milner'?
And Fabian Delph is 35??
feel like i've been tricked. isn't everyone obsessed with the idea of him getting back in the england squad?
they all make me feel queasy for some reason
I got 11
Bertrand, Clyne, Gibbs, Jenkinson, Lescott, Shawcross and Richards over Super Mike Williamson. Wake up, sheeple.
----Sir Gareth of Bareth----
Whip it down the flanks, bounce it off Andy's bonce for flavour of the week to stick it in, magic. If that isn't working get Wilshere to fall over lots in places Baines might do some damage. Rooney can fuck off. So can Barkley, worst flash in the pan ever. I'd like to have Lallana on the bench but bit worried he'll hang himself when he sees the sheet situation in Brazil. Therefore willing to let Stevie G warm the bench out of sufferance.
have people totally forgotten 2010?
That's Alexander Oxlade-Chamberlain staying at home then
I pick Rooney grudgingly, and would rather put Sterling in on the right and the Ox through the middle. Wayne's definition of a 'big occasion' is contract renewal talks. I put money on him not performing in Brazil this summer. England's way forward is to ditch underperforming senior players- Carrick and Johnson stand up. Also, 'talent' this is given too much credit because of the club they play for - arise Mr Cleverly and Mr Smalling- needs to be identified and sidelined.
Glad that the Adam Johnson bandwagon hasn't been satisfied. One purple patch of a month does not warrant inclusion at this late stage. Shaw on the other hand has been growing exponentially all season.
Christ it's hot... not sure how our boys are going to cope...
No room for Wilshere, Henderson, Chamberlain, Carrol or Lallana, but Lampard, Caulker, Zaha and Defoe(!)? Get 'em on that plane!
Starting line-up depends on the game, pal.
Danny Simpson, Clint Hill, Nedum Onuoha, Bainesy
Karl Henry, Joey Barton/Mikel Arteta
Dros Townsend, Janny Jazz, unRavel Morrison, Snodgrass
Can't be bothered with strikers.
