for Premier league positions
(Feel free to predict the lower leagues / Scottish leagues too)
2. Man City
6. Man Utd
8. West Ham
15. Aston Villa
16. Crystal Palace
18. West Brom
Genuinely not bants, but for some reason I can't remember one of the teams. Confident they can make 14th place their own though.
the peoples mid table champions.
Have a few beers for breakfast did we?
I'd like to see you predict the entire league table without looking.
I'm definitely bored enough to take this seriously
This is the best replacement I've found:
(it's cheating to predict the table with a predictor though)
but there's games missing for some reason.
Anyway, had Chelsea, City, Liverpool, Arsenal
down: Stoke (put down by West Brom on last day), Fulham, Cardiff (who play Chelsea in a propable champs vs already relegated)
that i'm bored enough to have emailed the proper authorities, who are currently looking into it, so they tell me.
Thank you again for your e-mail which was much appreciated, I noticed you’re not a Mustard player
and as a thank you if you should join, Mustard would credit you account with 6000 points on top of the free 2000 points all Players
receive for the March-14 game. (Back teams to go UP the league/Oppose teams to go DOWN the league)
Mustard main game is played over monthly intervals so when games are postponed for whatever reason and not immediately re-arranged they seem to disappear off the predictor. Mustard has now “Unscheduled fixtures” and added the missing games so those using the predictor can now see the table with every team having played 38 games.
had City beat Chelsea on goal difference! Then Arsenal, then liverpool.
Somehow Palace got relegated instead of Stoke, also on goal difference, with Fulham and Cardiff
1 Man City - with the squad and the forward line they have, can't see beyond them for champions. But it will be close with...
2 Chelsea - Still need a proper centre forward to bang in 20+ goals. Will win the title next season
3 Liverpool - The inconsistency is still a worry but they are starting to look the part. Without the added issue of Europe/Cups, I think they will pip Arsenal. Just.
4 Arsenal - Will fall away.
5 Man Utd - Thursday night, Channel 5
18 West Brom - On a downward spiral since Mell arrived
19 Cardiff - looking ever more clueless each week
20 Fulham - Magath will suffer a mutiny - the decline will be complete
Burnley or Derby (I'll tell you on Saturday evening)
(to be honest, it will probably be Burnley in 2nd)
Cardiff are shit- they're gone.
Fulham will probably do that thing where they get a few surprising new manager points but can't see it being enough- goodbye.
Norwich- have about five games left they can get any points from and unfortunately not a single one is against Tottenham- sorry it had to end this way, but laters.
Liverpool will finish 4th. They've really come on and that, but a comedy defence will get you eventually.
Arsenal will finish 3rd. Any collapse they do have will come too late to be a proper Arsenal collapse.
Chelsea and City will finish 1st and 2nd, within 2 or 3 points of each other. Our fixture list looks kinder, but it's only the kinder games we've ballsed up this season. Been consummate in the big ones. For the sake of the thread I'll go with what I went for back in the August thread- optimism. Chelsea to win.
city or chelsea top, other one within 3 points. leaning toward chelsea but if aguero comes back and it clicks soon enough then city.
arsenal 5-8 points off the top. liverpool 2 or three behind. spurs a fairly distant 5th (like 9-12 off arsenal) with united 6th.
fulham, cardiff, and one of norwich or brom to go down.
as long as we beat Stoke, Sunderland and West Brom at home and get a couple points out of Villa, Southampton, Swansea and Fulham away will be fine by virtue of other teams being shit. I was all doom and gloom before Sunday but only because I genuinely never expected to be gifted 3 points from Spurs
CL qualifiers: 2) Chelsea, 3) Man City, 4) Man United
EL qualifiers: 5) Liverpool, 6) Everton
Relegated(3): West Brom, Hull, Crystal Palace
Mark my words ....
None of them 3 are getting relegated for a start
None of them have reached the safe "40 points" level yet.
and CP have made some astute signings who are already winning them games. Hull only need 10 points and have quite a few struggling teams to play.
I think Cardiff are nailed on to go down at this point, and Sunderland have a very hard run in from here on - I think they'll pick up very few wins from now til the end of the season, especially with the 2 cup runs to wear them out even more.
The other obvious one is fulham, I'd say they're probably off too
As for the top 7:
1 Man City
5 Man Utd
that's all that matters really
2. Man City
6. Man Utd
11. West Ham
15. Aston Villa
16. Crystal Palace
18. West Brom
Sorry to our Palace mates.
We've played all the easier teams at home and our remaining home games are
Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Aston Villa and Southampton (in no particular order).
Our away games are against bottom half teams.
Fulham, Cardiff, Sunderland, Swansea, West Ham, as well as Newcastle.
We aren't that good away, and whilst we are good at home, we've got the hardest games remaining.
Sticking my neck on the line about this.
What an absolute shithouse that league is.
a) Someone was around to challenge Celtic (which, due to the only club with the potential to do that being run into the ground at every opportunity, will probably never happen again)
b) Hearts hadn't been deducted points at the start of the season
But yeah, it's a dire state of affairs. I genuinely think that if Rangers go to the wall again (an actual possibility), UEFA would have to step in - I'm not aware of any other league where only one side has the potential to win it. Fuck knows what UEFA would do - maybe Celtic could play in Belgium or something.
They'd nestle nicely into a mid table spot in league 2 ;)
at the beginning of the season. didn't put any money on it though fffffffsssssss (think there's a wolves + chesterfield double). gonna stick with that anyway
3 City (+ scouse double)
18 West Brom
Give a shit
The last relegation spot is the only one I'm a bit iffy about, given how tight it is this year. Going with Norwich based purely on their run-in but could just as easily be West Brom, whose new-manager-flush-of-health has consisted of six games without a win, or Sunderland being scuttled by their cup runs.
2. man city
6. man utd
12. west ham
13. aston villa
17. fulham (not just blind faith. we've got a nice run-in and previous http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ljwn5X8_09Q )
18. norwich (horrible run-in, basically have to be safe by 33 games. can't see it)
19. west brom (pepe meh, amirite?)
20. cardiff (make us look like a decently run club)
And Man Utd to come 7th and for Moyes to be sacked.
to keep rooney and sack moyes would be fucking hilarious
5 Leyton Orient
9 Bradford City
21 Bristol City
probs at the expense of Notts County or Carlisle? idk.
top 6 looks accurate. i'd be v pleased with 9th place
I did this by memory, so the bottom 4 arent gonna be spot on. Id be happy to see county go - the only away game ive been to in years was a 5-0 hammering there back in '08 or something.
If they join the blue sq premier then they'll struggle to win even one game
I JUST WON'T DO IT
20. Man Utd
1. Man City
even from the lofty position of 14th
before Sunday i'd have agreed with you but we're now actually in quite a strong position to survive those last 4 games with 3 teams failing to pick up enough points til then
adybongo - I hope your season predictions are as accurate as your Carlton Cole transfer rumours!!
