Mine was Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, in the 80s.
I think mine was Mickey's Christmas Carol and The Jungle Book, at Basildon cinema, somewhere around Christmas 1983.
Probably somethjng awesome though
return of the jedi but I was asleep (and a fire hazard) in my buggy. first film I remember seeing: care bears the movie. care bears are due a come back.
what's taking so long
maybe they don't translate well into the world of cgi animation kids demand nowadays.
just been googling care bears, care bears in the land without feelings is the best title ever (featuring professor coldheart)
I remember seeing it in whatever year it came out with whoever I saw it with. Yup, definitely true
snow white and the seven dwarves, I think.
was definitely a rerun of an old disney animation.
Out-indie that, DiS...
four years old. I went with my Dad because you wanted to see it.
Ghostbusters and Ralph Bakshi's Lord of the Rings
Queuing outside the Sunderland Empire cos that's what you used to have to do back in Victorian times
Either that or maybe the Three Ninja Kids.
I've just tried to look it up, but can only find 3 Ninjas, so maybe it was that.
in Kingston. I distinctly remember drinking ribena too.
my old man took me to see (i think) the He-Man cartoon film, but we were late so went to this instead - what a stroke of luck!
Don't think I ever fully recovered from that traumatic experience
But there must have been earlier ones seeing as I was 7 at the time. Probably Star Wars before that.
Don't remember anything about watching, but a piece of interesting history to me is that the cinema was turned into a club and it was where I went clubbing for about 2 or 3 years.
It had a cartoon before it, pretty retro.
Cool Runnings was another early one, went for someone's birthday party.
Must have been 1990 somewhen? I'd have been 4.
We didn't get in the first time we tried as it was sold out and I cried. Kids, eh?
Snow White & The Seven Dwarves, Derby Odeon, c1973
pretty sure I didn't see Lion King til it was on video
Is the first one I remember, and I vaguely remember being excited for my first cinema trip (about 1997ish). My mum swears it was Toy Story a couple of years earlier, though I'd have only been 2 years old so who knows.
So It could have been something like Godzilla, Quest for Camelot, that first Pokemon film, or A Bugs Life.
Remember telling all of my Dad's mates that he cried at the end. He didn't but it seemed funny to say he did. Haha.
My dad covered my eyes when the guy's face turned to maggots
at the age of, according to the internet, 3. That doesn't seem right, but it definitely happened. I even remember stomping to the Cannon Darlington through the slush (it seems that it came out in December 1987) and the next day in nursery doing a painting of He-Man which was, in retrospect, probably massively homoerotic.
