it really is a great piece of work - makes me really proud.
I only ask because it's got 1 Tweet and that was made 20h ago.
I'm a big fan of this: https://twitter.com/sarcastialist
when someone follows you on twitter and you have no idea how they would have come across your account in the first place or why they'd be interested.
I just assume they're all porn accounts and never really bother to read the accounts in the first place.
they followed you hoping that you'd follow them back
ok, so i do have a reason for following this account - because i can't hear the words follow through without sniggering. et another reason why i love cricket.
They want to be followed because they're trying to sell something or look legitimate so they can spam people.
Our way of interpreting this is far better.
i have no idea what it is, or what they talk about, i just like that it's follow through
but my all-time best was taking the piss out of someone and thereby implying they should consider buying a private jet, and promptly being followed by three accounts that sold or rented private jets. FINALLY
but no now we're all trying to make sense of your obtuse and unfunny interest in fashion photography.
You may have completely failed to read that Twitter account. I don't like fashion photography, which is why I follow an account that rips the shit out of it.
Chill out Alexander McQueen
it's not very good imo
sorry Theo, we'll try harder.
affects how effective any given satire of that thing is, does it?
I like it. 90% of the posts are amusing takes on ludicrous Zoolander-esque posing.
I idly tweeted that Tom Daley was wearing a nice jumper and immediately had someone a) trying to sell me said jumper and b) implying that 'social media' was going wild for said jumper.
It wasn't even a very good jumper.
because I called him a bad libertarian. tbf he was a terrible libertarian
it didn't take off.
I had one that sold GPS devices for cats
not tracking collars
actual GPS devices
Was it mounted on the collar like an HUD for the cat? That's obviously a question where we lay aside all the other big questions surrounding this.
and it's not niche but the British museum followed me a few weeks ago, I'm not sure what they're hoping for.
a lot of serious people who follow my work account end up following my personal account. Not sure that renewable energy companies and local councillors are all that interested in me talking about banjos and repeatedly trying to bait Louise Mensch, but there's no accounting for taste.
thinking that I'm the political commentator Owen Jones. We've chatted before, he's very nice.
I want one.
I was reached out to in my old job but they refused to let me pay for it. Meh
from their Verified FAQ
What kinds of accounts get verified?
Twitter verifies accounts on an ongoing basis to make it easier for users to find who they're looking for. We concentrate on highly sought users in music, acting, fashion, government, politics, religion, journalism, media, sports, business, and other key interest areas. We are constantly updating our requirements for verification. Note, verification does not factor in follower count or Tweet count.
We do not accept requests for verification from the general public. If you fall under one of the above categories and your Twitter account meets our qualifications for verification, we may reach out to you in the future.
