similar to the badold me in a kind of rambling rose sort of way, I like the way take ages to get to the hard sell of "you'll be for-armed if you take out our subscription"
it means you will not be depressed by what I said, which means your remaining days will be happier.
I totally underestimated how people would be able to block things out and how in denial everything would become....the mistake being that I assumed that events would force people into having the same vision, this is obviously a false premise, however the economic seriousness and direness was not flawed, just my assessment of how people would initially react to certain evidence.
In fact you could say of society in general 'this is Jinsy'
there are peaks and troughs in every system, innit. s'all it was, s'all it is.
I therefore have no idea what you would constitute as evidence, my mistake in my arguments is that I thought I could convince, by trying to anticipate where people are and then trying to convince from there. This is doomed to failure, hence I havn't bothered recently.
I will refrain from being drawn into a silly attempt to convince an indie music forum as it is inappropriate (as many dissers have pointed out).
Let me instead do some smoothing over your peaks and troughs and see if we can find a new trend (this last line taken from "Paddy McGuiness's Take me out stock answers suggestions for contestents)
i won't criticise any solid evidence or analysis of events that you put forward.
chiefly why the economic crisis of the past few years is different to preceding 'troughs'
I will reply to this tomorrow
All a tsunami is is a peak and a trough, and they aint never sunk nothing
I took on board the fact that people dont like people sounding the alarm, and so I havn't talked about this sort of thing......but now you've made me soil my resolution to not mention stuff that people don't like mentioned.
makes a candid and frank and deep enough admission of the true severity of the situation and the true limitation of options, and the politician/administrators most credible counterpart/weight acknowledges his assessment.
This would probably only be heeded if it was seen as a deliberate political suicide by two counterparts on either side of the normal binary argument divide
apart from you.
I thought you wanted me to stop (I know I do)
sounds like something that belongs in the ITV knock-offs thread
can't say I actually read the thread before posting
Id assumed you'd thised oojimaflops post to see it having the same time as yours, and thus would have seen that it was a reply to my self depracating smug joke reference (cos my argumental position is widely regarded as smug and superior.......actually its the opposite, its really shitty and inferior and low brow)
Is that he can see problems that he doesnt seem to be able to convince others of, unfortunately, rather than accepting that he will not be capable of using rhetoric to convince a wide and general audiance, he persisted in the past. Unfortunately fuzzy certainty of outcome does not trump the certainty of shallow platitudes, which are presented by the extant.
Creakyknees is not particularly good at debate (or english language or grammar for that matter).
Lots of other people are very good at debate and english and presentation, just look at the people who rise to the top of society, the queen, david cameron, Osbourne, Tony Blair, Mandleson, Clegg, Fred Goodwin, The FSA, Banking Chiefs and financial experts, etc etc etc.
Indeed, look at who runs education - Gove, how can the people that rise to the top of a logical and pragmaticly ordered society possibly not be the best people to understand the state of the world as it truly is.
Im more like Jesus - a muddle headed sentimentalist........unfortunately I am not as lovable, but I appreciate your 'like'
Come, you can be a disciple.
(Have I overdone the smug just a tad?)
this is the matrix now.
you're a battery or something.
did anyone get the same feeling they did when Mick Foley switched over to being Cactus Jack?
I wonder if I should stick MY oar in
