No idea whether that's difficult or not.
Have they got any further appeals left? I know the Italian justice system is pretty labyrinthine.
Thought the DNA evidence from the last trial had been discounted because it had been collected so haphazardly (no gloves worn, etc)
How can they suddenly backtrack on that and convict them?
there's no evidence against her except that people don't like her
Seems like the main thing against her is she acted a bit weird after it happened, people seem to be fine with making the massive leap that acting a bit weird = murderer, rather than the simpler explanation that some people just are abut weird
apparently innocent people often look shifty and act strangely, it is the murderers who seem to act all innocent as it is all an act.
is that news channels looped a 3 second clip of her kissing her boyfriend and played it 24/7 as though that somehow implied their guilt
Quite plain as an innocent woman.
I stand corrected
She's been found guilty three times now so she probably is.
On the other hand she is quite hot so.....
idk, haven't read up on this for a while
Do I look like a reader?
"Amanda... who? Knox?"
*Scans A4 sheet of paper*
"No, I don't think we have anyone of that name in this country. Try Canada."
She can't still be a student it was about 8 years ago and she's mainly been in prison since then hasn't she?
sort of really dislike the Kercher parents for some reason.
so nobody can judge them, but they do seem kind of hell-bent on seeing knox/sollecito be convicted, despite there being little or nothing against them.
from the country that let someone like Berlusconi to lead it, but having now sat down and read the publicly available evidence (which is obv not the all the possible information, and I'm relying on it being reliably presented anyway), I've skipped to the "they're guilty as hell" side (blood and dna evidence, the staged burglary, the ridiculous lies and ass-covering corrections later again proved to be lies, the defense's inability to respond to some of the key points against them etc). Or maybe I'm like Danny Dyer and just believe the latest thing I've read.
a sex game that went wrong + an argument about cleaning that got out of hand wasn't it? How the fuck do you even prove anything like that?
but how have they managed to lock one guy up for it, but not anyone else?
and the other two were in prison for four years before their conviction was overturned
than America. Think of the food!
I remember going past a prison in Tuscany, and all the inmates were hanging out their washing, out their windows, in the sun. My girlfriend simply remarked "I wish i could dry our clothes outside more often".
They had a huge kitchen garden and he helped the knock up some amazing looking pasta from all the veg they were growing. It looked lovely, though pudding was probably some crack and a shivving.
Though I guess I should expect nothing less from DiS...
but I suspect they're going to try and extradite her from America and America will be like "nah".
People are saying there's no evidence, but surely there was enough evidence to:
1) Have a trial in the first place
2) Have a retrial (with "new evidence" to boot)
I don't think it's just a grudge. Or because she's good looking. Or any other reason the press or whatever might say. I can't see such a high profile case in Italy / UK and America be anythign other than squeaky clean.
and them flapping around blaming everyone else for it, and behaving "suspiciously". No real physical evidence.
2) The evidence was so badly handled by the italian police that most is completely corrupted and can't possibly prove anything. After completely fucking the crime scene in the first instance, they went back several times and found 'new' evidence. Sounds perfectly legit to me.
They have to be proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, but what little evidence against them is either circumstantial or completely unreliable.
who got 14 years.. did he plead guilty and get a reduced sentance? how has she got 28 years?
also if they have evidence that he did it.. surely they know how he did it and if he was alone.. (guessing this is where the grey area comes in). has he implicated the other two? were Knox and Sollecito in the wrong place at the wrong time?
did they do a hutchence/carradine?
he claimed that the two of them were alone together and someone came in through a window and killed her while he was in the bathroom, then shouted something racist at him when he returned and then jumped out of a window and disappeared into the night.
he's never implicated the other two. why his sentence is less than theirs is just more wtf italian legal system, there's no justification.
and, there's no evidence of any kind of sex game. it's complete speculation by the prosecution towards motive.
I'm not saying they're guilty, but I'm saying that is a fair question to ask when you're a prosecuting council.
but they were interrogated so many times and in an unethical fashion that they say they ended up just agreeing to whatever the police said. again just badly handled and all too common.
i'm not arguing for their innocence by the way, just that there's no evidence to support their conviction whereas there's literally smoking gun type evidence against the guy who is in prison.
which I guess would be why they've pursued the case against Knox/Sollecito so doggedly.
Then he implicated them to get a reduced sentence
this spices things up a bit
then confessed, then said it was them and that he wasn't there
nobody could take anything he says seriously at this point
i read an article that someone had made a film (porn?) about her murder and her dad found out :(
obviously its tragic when anyone's child dies but i think this sort of thing would completely destroy my parents especially my dad. dunno what knox's involvement in the whole thing was or whether she was exactly an accessory to murder but yeah the whole legal turmoil of it is really sad.
Sexy suspects is his speciality.
The prosecutors advanced a single piece of forensic evidence linking Sollecito to Kercher's bedroom, a DNA fragment (Sollecito's Y chromosome) detected during analysis of Kercher's bra clasp, which had been cut from the strap. The clasp was visible in crime-scene video taken on 2 November when it had been found by Perugia's forensics squad who placed a marking card beside it for Stefanoni's team from Rome. Stefanoni's team only realised it had been missed 46 days later, by which time they had inadvertently moved it four feet across the room, where it was found under a rug in a pile of other items. Giulia Bongiorno, leading the defence, questioned how Sollecito's DNA could have got on the metal clasp of the bra, but not on the fabric of the bra strap from which it was torn. "How can you touch the hook without touching the cloth?" Bongiorno asked. The back strap of the bra had multiple traces of DNA belonging to Guede. During a cross-examination Bongiorno screened film of the belated recovery of the bra clasp that appeared to show Stefanoni touching the hooks of the clasp with her glove; Stefanoni admitted that, contrary to what she had said at pre-trial hearings, she may have touched the hooks. DNA evidence remained the central plank of the prosecution case against Sollecito.
concludes shes guilty. Nearly everything you read in the media is pro Amanda so the public have a skewed view of what may or may not have happened.
and it's not about being pro-amanda, it's about the convictions being just or unjust. if she's guilty then the police and the prosecutors have seriously failed at their jobs.
regardless of whether she was caught standing there holding a snoking gun, I still would have no respect for that conviction. however, the law is the law, so she's guilty according to their law.
I doubt the states will observe it and extradite though.
