So that I can get laughs with it.
TBO you can use it when you've jokified it.
out of an incident where people died, homes were destroyed and businesses ruined, for the sake of getting a cheap laugh and attempting to score one for a needy, over-represented minority intent on hijacking traditions which don't belong to them.
Firstly I don't think anyone died http://www.cockermouth.org.uk/floods2009.html (please advise is the church (as seen in photo) suffering because its one of the branches of christianity that isnt on your 'true christianity list' (see other thread).
2ndly, does this mean that people also should not make jokes about anything that hurts anyone (like financial crisis etc)?
In which case surely people like UKIP councillors should surely not use natural disasters where others have been hurt, as an excuse to re-iterate their feeling of smug superiority over and predjudice against an oppressed minority who have been bullied and attacked due to such attitudes and encouragement of justification of the oppression.
3rdly I wasnt trying to score one for the 'minority' (who incidently have to try to over represent to counter an ingrained and bullying predjudice, i.e. they have to do something....gay people get beaten up by anti gay people, straight people do not get beaten up and discriminated against for being straight)
I was merely trying to score one AGAINST idiot bullies who delight in continued oppression of minorities.
4thly an intent for lifelong commitment that is declared to and then recognised by the community is not the property of the christian church......interesting that if it were though, that it is very noticable how the christian church is perhaps the biggest hijacker of traditions that dont belong to them.
Easter (didnt even bother to christianise this)
Christmas (you christianised this though)
Halloween is a dechristianisation of all hallows eve which was a christianisation and hijacking of samhain
Candlemass or St Bridgets day is a hijacking of imbolc
Churches were surplanted upon other older traditionally spiritual/holy or important sites, and christian churches have hijacked yewtrees totally in this regard.
Although christianity did strip women of spiritual importance and elevated the male way above female, because its biggest flaw is its tendency to create unnatural inequality, so that its heirarchical power based institution can then be the authority on where power should lie (according to arcane artificial and superficial dogma)
cos hes just a little troll, who possibly is a little homophobic and once was a little bit religeous
1) People died http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-cumbria-18649410
I believe there were also number of older people who died indirectly (the upheaval was too much of a strain for some).
2) The financial crisis was man-made and could have been easily prevented if people paid more attention, but we ultimately get the governance we deserve.
3) As a straight Christian, I feel that the pressure by pro-gay lobbyists to allow gays to marry in Church is an attack on my beliefs. Sure, it might not be a physical attack, but still.
4) As I've made clear time and time again, I have no problem with a couple of gays committing to one another - just not in my Church.
1) So not in cockermouth then? (and if your criticism was meant to include floods in general, then surely the original UKIP councillors linking of Gay rights being responsible then this is trivialising for the sake of persecution/revokation of those (now) legal rights, in a way suggesting that these are responsible for this death?
my joke is mocking the original pathetic and irrelevant linking of legal equalisation with (as you put it) tradgedies that have nothing to do with it......the original linkage is the ridiculous trivialisation of events.......my joke is mocking the lack of any tracable cause and effect, jokingly suggesting that a pun, is perhaps the closest that there is to any linkage between the two things. (puns often considered to be the weakest of wit)
2) so the financial crisis was man made eh? and is easy to avoid? please identify at what points it could have been avoided (I've tried to identify these points and have made a good effort but its next to impossible to even convince people in hindsight)....
the floods.....well at cockermouth I think, as you will see in the original link, that water management had been neglected.
If you are talking about it more in general, then I think that it is largely held to be that the changing weather patterns are probably caused ny human activity.....if we had paid more attention then we wouldnt have polluted and needlessly rushed headlong into hyper competative consumer/industrial war (which also goes hand in hand with financial behaviour).......although i suppose that you can now revert to being a christian who believes that the weather is not a natural phenomena which responds and changes according to the inputs (of which several, humans control) but is in fact just god given, to show his displeasure.
3) the councillor mentioned that it was punishment for allowing gays to marry (not for allowing gays to marry in church) In fact many gay people who campaign for equality do not want to get married in a church that represents something that has (to a large degee) ostracised and criticised and preached against their feelings.
4) no one mentioned 'YOUR CHURCH'.
Although you deny it, you quite obviously DO have problems with a couple of gays committing to one another, as you have said that you are against same sex marriage and think that it is wrong.
Your argument, for your 'belief' is riddled with inconsistancy and change where you constantly move your words.......this is fine with people who are being oppressed, the problem is that it is you who are trying to say that someone else is 'wrong for being who they are'......and yes I am saying that you are being wrong, but I am saying that you are being wrong for saying that someone else is less worth consideration than you are cos you are special, because you follow a 'special set of rules'.....except this special set of rules is not carefully worked out from lifes experiances, your special set of rules are dogmatic, and they are being gradually changed to allow them to not become illegal as the legislation in this country becomes more liberalised in respect of equality and fairness, yes you are probably frightened by change and 'when will it stop' ......but you really can let go of hatred and predjudice.......it really wont destroy your character (unless thats all it was, in which case , good)
Jesus would like you change, to forgive and accept, he wants you to love as much as your fellow humans as possible, and then when you've done that, you have to try to make even more of an effort with your new pov to accept and love even more...........at least that is if you follow Jesus the merciful, compassionate and forgiving...........of course you might worship something else called Jesus the spiteful, vengeful and unforgiving.......but Im not sure if thats a thing......just mistaken and weak people who purport to follow the former
I guess that explains why Cockermouth was worst hit.
Farage’s Foot-In-Mouth Bud’s Blame For Cockermouth Floods On Cock-In-Mouth Hubs Shame
although I was worried I wouldnt be the first with this, but I was hoping cos I hadnt seen it in the reporting I had seen. Oh well!
