How are you with and how much do you end up paying?
SIM (one month rolling)
£24pm on a contract iPhone 4
Until the start of this year I used one of their add-on deals with a cheap payg Samsung, which was also unlimited and £15pm. I'm not sure if it was just that phone or because it was a payg phone, but I could also use it was a tethered hotspot for my laptop, which was fun. pretty sure i put the "unlimited" part to the test there.
surprised they didn't fuck you on it
i only really tried it because i got by someone who worked at Three that they couldn't tell the difference in usage types.
as i said, i don't know if it was because of the make of phone or because of when i did it or because it was payg and so they couldn't really bill me, but i got away with stupid amounts over almost two years of using it like that. it served as my only internet connection for probably around six months continuously, and i remember streaming movies over it and stuff like that.
on the iphone i have now, if i try and tether it i get an angry warning on my laptop's browser telling me off :(
just coming to an end of 2 years with three, iphone 4 basic £25 a month, £3 extra to make it unlimited data, then £5 to allow tethering (supposedly limited to 1gb but they have never charged me for more, dont think they can tell the difference between normal phone data and tethered laptop).
I was going switch to sim only for £15 a month (including tethering, one year contract £18 for rolling monthly (less if no tethering)) but then my phone started playing up (suspiciously timing, planned obsolescence on the part of apple I think) so im getting an iphone 5c £41 a month
They really know how to build things to last. God bless 'em.
Clear champions of the mobile phone world.
Was on a £23 p month with unlimited texts, data, and a hundred minutes. Ran out a few weeks ago so kept the same phone and downgraded to a rolling monthly contract, £12 for unlimited data, texts and 200 mins.
Pretty happy to be fair, never usually have any signal problems and my phone is still doing a job.
£35pm iphone 5, nearly at end of contract & tired of the upgrade race so will be on the look out for a cheaper unlimited plan
it's actually 500mb (with a fair use policy if you go above that) but I have never ever been charged or throttled (to my knowledge) and I regularly go past it and use about 1gb a month. T-Mobile, £11/month for a year but got £70 cashback which makes it just over a fiver a month.
(which I've had since April last year)
