If you have one you are a terrible human being. I am also including rice/slow cooker combis.
would like a word, I suspect
The £10 we spent on a rice cooker four years ago was one of the best purchases we've ever made.
I'm assuming not...
8 cooking options in 1 product, including: rice, pulses and grains, porridge, steamed foods, slow cooking, soups and cakes
this is the exact thing I've got.
I bought it recently to replace my old rice cooker, but it always turns out crap.
Take me through your process...
put rice and water in it. press on. wait. rice.
I suppose I rinse the rice first too. are you rinsing your rice?
I need amounts and settings please
rice n cups
water to n cup mark
white rice setting
Fuck you, you horrible piece of shit
hope you had a really neat Christmas!
Well I don't actually because then I would be attacking people with pans and that is the last thing I would ever want to do.
cooking rice well is a complete pain in the arse
I just boil some water, chuck some rice in it and then 10 mins later have a delicious accompaniment to whatever carcass I'm devouring.
What does a rice cooker do to make that easier? How do they work?
I highly doubt that method is producing optimum rice.
put rice + water in rice cooker. press go -> amazing rice
IT'S NO DIFFERENT WHATSOEVER!
A SOUP MAKER! Haha.
(it's actually pretty fucking great)
Becuase they are supposed to be pretty good... but still... fucking hell.
Must admit I was completely mortified when I opened it (making soup is pretty fucking easy innit) as my mother has a history of buying me kitchen gadgets which are utter shite. This is brilliant though, literally chuck vegetables and seasoning in, press a button and it's done in 20 minutes with hardly any washing up. Does smoothies as well.
sort price high to low, should be near the top right?
aka DANGER KETTLE!
at £270 its cheaper than a Vitamix or blendtec but got just as much ooomph
cooks by friction of the blades
does ice cream
I will probably use it to help me resurface my driveway as well
fuck you pal
up to 20 portions
10 cups (2.2L)
Free recipe book!
I quite often have to cook rice for up to 20 people
Rice is one of the easiest things to do, just below microwaving a baked potato.
and are very useful if you only have one pan. Really sad mine died.
The idea of using anything else is unthinkable. Great for steaming vegetables too.
Good for a banquet involving lots of people I suppose, but I don't do them very often. I don't find rice on the hob very difficult at all, even that "perfect, fluffy rice" that people talk about. The problem people have is trying to cook it like pasta, so they boil it up for ages until it is tender, but when they actually serve it of course it turns into a gelatinous mush.
Take the rice off the heat when cooked, drain, then stick the lid on bit with a tea towel betwixt pan and lid. Keeps the rice warm but the tea towel absorbs supplementary moisture to stop it getting mushy.
cooking rice is well easy you keiths
have really low standards when it comes to rice
its hardly canapes
are shit at cooking rice
is more rewarding than using a rice cooker, I imagine. Never looked at a rice cooker as anything else than a folly myself.
but it was a total palaver. Rice cooker inherited from old flat mate and love it. means I can just bosh the rice out on the counter and it's done tops everytime while I concentrate on all the other parts of dinner
time eleven minutes
just made a beastin risotto for your fyi
