you're gonna rile em up
Google suggests you might just mean...a shirt.
But a polo shirt is also a shirt. Button down is just the other kind.
it's a top.
a t-shirt's a t-shirt.
a shirt's a shirt.
to answer your question, though, it purely depends whether there's any sort of jacket involved or not. no jacket, you can only look like an office prole with a tucked in shirt. jacket, you stand out as council estate scum not tucking in.
Some shirts never look good not tucked in. But, since I rarely wear a jacket, I try to get away with not tucking in as often as possible.
A "button-down" refers to a shirt with a button-down collar (as opposed to a shirt with a spread collar, tab collar, etc.)
and/or trouser type.
No gut, with jeans - tucked out is acceptable
No gut, with dress pants - tucked in
Large gut, with dress pants - tucked in
Large gut, jeans - Go home and get changed, tucked in or not, you're going to look like Jeremy Clarkson.
pinstripe or plain black. Sort of thing you'd wear proper shoes with.
So where do chinos fit in?
same for courds, pinstripe trousers, three-quarter length shorts, any jeans that aren't black or a variant of blue.
black trousers x 2, black jeans x 1, blue jeans x 1, stonewash jeans x 2, obligatory pair of lounge trousers (indoors only), pyjama bottoms x 2 (indoors only), sports shorts (several pairs, indoors only).
They're inconspicuous, acceptable in most colours, fit various dress codes and go with most shirts/t shirts etc.
but substitute Clarkson for James May re: gut size.
he means smart trousers.
Its you Manc fucks that seem to trot it out on here.
Especially the hem. Shirts that have an undulating hem are intended to be tucked in.
It gets tucked in. If the trousers you're wearing with it don't look right with it tucked in then you're wearing the wrong trousers.
Tuck it in!!
Dont dress like an estate agent. Out.
untucked if i'm out and about
or did I make that up?
Does doing this regularly make me a complete heel?
Sometimes I don't, either way I always look sharp! :)
I lose one billion respect points for you immediately. And I'm not even that judgemental!
