thoughts? i dunno. Enjoyed the trilogy, ticked along well, especially the number of coffees consumed by Blomqvist throughout it.
(if you like detective fiction that is)
not read any of them either though it's probably best to ignore me
good page turner. Some pretty disturbing stuff but it's decent enough.
need to remind myself of it. Tis a good whodunnit.
like all those Bond ones written after Fleming's death, that recent PG Wodehouse Jeeves and Wooster book, even that Asterix and Obelix
just fanfiction isn't it? may as well spice it up and turn it into slash fic or something
always nice when someone has a go at breathing new life into an old character, like when it's done well with superhero films/other stuff.
obviously done badly it's fucking awful.
like I expect commercial money-grubbing from the film industry because it's built on that, but books somehow seem as though they should be different.
Much better than the film (so far).
Loved the first one (film and book).
realised that the sequel was due ages ago, seems to have petered out a bit.
also larsson left an unfinished book that's already been published in some insane box set, dunno if the new book is related to that?
anyway, the books are a load of old rubbish, but by golly do they gallop along
they got steadily worse but I felt I needed to complete them once I started
never seen any of the films - generally hate films of books I have enjoyed reading
But if I watch the film, I don't mind reading the book afterwards. Think it's cos if you do the reading first you tend to formulate a view in your mind of what the characters look like, how they sound etc.
Without Goscinny (rip) OR Uderzo? Don't fancy that much (although to be fair, can't be much worse than most of Uderzo's solo efforts).
i've read all the books though and would agree with slicky's assessment that they get steadily worse, though i think the first one is very good.
are the films worth a watch?
The first one is fantastic. The second and third - I wouldn't bother to be honest.
i'll try and dig out a highly legitimate source to watch that tonight, I think.
might add it to the list
got to finish off Borgen first
the Fincher one is good, the first Swedish one is good, then they get increasingly stupid
(bearing in mind that I've not read the books still)
i heard the fincher one changed a pretty important bit at the end so was like 'wut' and didn't watch it. will ;probably watch it at some point.
Your points about getting increasingly stupid also stand true for the books i think, though the second one is decent.
