Yes I am using IE, no I can't use a ddifferent browser at work.
I have no capacity to fix it, I'm just intrigued.
every second. so you try and click ona link, but click on the username or facebook button instead. its annoying.
what version are you using?
It looks like a fucking shed but sean's washed his hands of us
gonna have to burn the computer and buy a new one
I had no idea. Is this since Friday?
I mocked up this post as a wind up http://drownedinsound.com/community/boards/social/4441110#r7869640
- they have applications that were written years ago that targeted IE only.
- it's easier to integrate into your patching cycles as they come monthly on the 2nd Tuesday.
- even if you supply a second browser, IE will still need patching anyway. It's simpler to just support one browser rather than both.
- IT departments hate you.
they're not too bothered if DiS isn't working as smoothly as it could for you.
and will instead only acknowledge the last point.
It baffles me that we spend thousands of pounds on an application is built for an way out of date browser. IE10 isn't a bad browser considering companies need to sort it out.
I'm still using XP at work. I'm going to miss it when I have to let go.
I remember quite a few years back, I made a change to a web application at work - gave a quote, got asked to reduce it (standard when writing software) and said the only way I could was if I wrote it to target IE6 only rather than be multiplatform.
Guess what happened. :(
welcome to the future....ugh it really is awful.
the jigging up and down wtf?
on IE 8 Windows 7 x64
somewhere between IE's dubstep-powered internet ads and the developer of DiS making a dubstep album
You need to explicitly opt in to IE DiS.
but the scrolling up/down is irritating
Without wanting to sound like a patronising jerk, have you tried installing Chrome?
The only reason I say is because our work computers are locked down to buggery, but for some reason it allows me to install chrome. Someone in IT explained why, but basically it doesn't need to be in stalled by an administrator, so quids in.
If you have tried, then I'll shut my big, ginger bearded face.
Can't do it at work :(
http://www.google.com/chromeframe (should allow you to use chrome within IE)
when it switches to the next line, the whole site shifts up as the old one vanishes, then it readjusts again when the new one appears.
It's also (for some reason) loading the mobile css styles rather than the desktop ones.
Basically, IE is loading all your stylesheets and applying them sequentially, so your tablet and mobile styles are overwriting the desktop ones.
have sent to the developers - not sure they're around to take a look.
took me 4 attempts to just to manage to click on this thread (Im old my reactions are slower....this is agism....which is illegal....apparently)
Also the up and downing is making me feel sick after about 2 minutes.
I cannot install another browser.
Still I suppose for many not having me posting is a good thing.
