Alright chaps? How's your industrial estate?
Nearest businesses? Mine's a coffee roasters and a car service centre.
I'm sorry but you're going to have to give me moderating powers.
You've had a problem for a while (well actually many problems), a problem that I can deal with if you give me the powers.
and then your problem goes, quietly.
It is off a very busy main road and among mainly car parts places. There is a retail park nearby which actually serves basically every human need available. Highlights are a Lidl, Poundstretcher, Subway, TK Max, Sports Direct, Halfords, Matalan. One year I did pretty much all my Christmas shopping just in lunchbreaks.
I've only got Tesco, M&S, Mothercare, Argos and PC World. I would kill for a Lidl.
I probably go at least three times a week, just plan meals around whatever looks good, or whatever vegetable is ridiculously cheap.
Glad I'm not in your family
I'll do this lush-stinking city boy too, just give it to me.
I used to work on a shitty industrial estate in Poole - nothing of use except a garage and a food van that came around at 11 am with all of the cast offs that the other companies didn't want. Depressing.
cheese and ham batch today, pack of mini cheddars. Thanks for asking.
'Food van' Is there a more depressing venue to get lunch?
a food van in an urban metropolis under moonlight is likely to be redefined as 'street food' and thus considered to be tres en vogue.
it was in Ponders End, out by the M25, and it was the grimmest place i've ever worked
the only shop within walking distance was a branch of Makro :(
opposite a Formula One repair garage and next to a Yodel centre. Yodel drivers used to block us in the car park.
Bull & Gate
£5 entry, more on the door.
Sad I can't participate.
Businesses in my court:
PA hire company
A company called Pipes & Valves - I asked them what they sold and they didn't find it funny so we don't talk anymore.
A licensed wholesaler to the trade. Never talked to them.
A bloke who tunes race cars. He's alright.
A haulage company. Racists.
There's a greasy burger van at one of the entrances and a hand car wash. That's it. The sole amenities.
I just eat at my desk.
You can't walk anywhere because there are no pavements on the access road.
Went for a walk around it about a year ago. Can't be arsed to ever do it again. Been here three years now.
Cheap rent - but I want out.
It was shit
I practically live on an industrial estate. Scrapyard one side, removals company the other side of my place.
and my clutch of useful but soulless retail outlets, but found in my lunchbreak I can make it to a nearby park and a nature reserve type place with woods and everything. Takes a lot of effort to walk 20 minutes just to spend a bit of time with nature, then pound the 20 minutes back but it kills the time nicely I suppose. Some of it is actually quite beautiful, it is empty as no one wants to visit a nature reserve at the arse end of an industrial estate.
Bristol. But I am sure it is pretty much the same.
can i post in here?
going to allow it
It is still only half built, but our place is right at the back of it. About a mile away from the A5 and about 10 roundabouts away :/
It features a tip (sorry 'recycling centre'), a UPS warehouse, a VW parts place, Euro Car Parts and a few other places that I'm not sure what they are.
It also has a 20mph speed limit and I think us and UPS are the only ones who adhere to it. Euro Car Parts drive like absolute cunts around it.
but now i work on a business park.
JFC it was bleak.
think I went for a job interview once
a tesco distribution centre.
My office doesn't quite know if it's in an industrial estate or a business park. Out the back we’ve got some standy around stuff going on, and out the side we’ve got sitty down stuff happening.
Nearby highlights include a Holiday Inn, Blue Ocean Fish and Chips and a Lidl one way, B&Q, some toy store, PC World, McDonalds, KFC and Pizza Hut the other way, and a big undeveloped area of land which is used as a car park for Championship football games.
Keen ramblers and urban adventurers may have spotted an overgrown and seriously dilapidated Little Chef or similar round the corner. http://tinyurl.com/pcdyef4
Used to ride a cherry picker around a warehouse near there. Halcyon days.
though I never wore a hard hard
but a few month ago i went to southwick to visit our printers, that was on an industrial estate. Grim as fook.
Would've done it on purpose in any case.
about a job I used to have on an industrial estate, but nobody ever replies to or thises it, so I'm gonna pass, thanks anyway.
Just popped in to say Skoda dealership.
Unknown business in big building opposite with very few employees - say 6 in a three floor building.
CAT office, think it's accounts.
NPower call centre
