Thinking about going with the Sony Vaio but reviews are really mixed. What do you reckon?
what do you want/need it for?
My old one has broken and will cost £110 to fix. I'm considering just scrapping it and saving for a new one which I would have bought in about a year's time anyway.
No complaints. i7 processor, 6gb ram, 500gb hard drive, from what I could find it was difficult to beat for the price.
This is a bargain, get it
but that only took about half an hour to uninstall when I got it. Worth it for the money it seemingly brings the price down by.
It's so sexy.
as my macbook is now 6 years old, and has quite a few issues (not least the fact it doesn't work unless it's plugged in - and not supporting iCloud, which means my diary is never in sync on it)
Tempted to get a tablet and a portable keyboard instead, as I mainly end up using laptop to edit articles and moderate DiS between meetings or type emails that would give me serious wrist ache on my phone. Be nice to not have to lug laptop and plug, and try to find a seat somewhere near a plug, and just be able to do a few basic things really quickly.
a boom boom
boom boom on your website, I don't know if I'm going mental or it's an ad.
Can you confirm for me (this is not a complaint)
no I'm pretty sure that isn't it Sean... it doesn't fit ma sick flow
Though I know what I'm going to post your next birthday
HEY SEANY ITS YA BIRTHDAY
Which adverts are showing when you hear thee boom diddy boom-boom? Might be a remnant campaign that I need to kill.
Worth checking your other tabs and other programmes you have open too, before I spend too much time investigating the issue (as no-one else has reported this)
but if I'm the only one to report it then I'd hesitate investigating because I haven't checked all potential audio sources.
I'm in danger of getting into wza / henry hoover territory with recommending them though.
not a replacement for a laptop, but better than a tablet w/keyboard imo
had all sorts of problems with it in the beginning and windows 8 is a nuisance, but man it really is so sexy
I really liked gdgt which has now merged with Engadget. Looks like Acer come out top in their laptop category http://www.engadget.com/reviews/laptops/
I like the verge. even though every review is just comparing whatever product to the apple equivalent.
They link to reviews from the main other sites, so I would read a range of those reviews if I was considering a specific laptop. It is not about being the "top" laptop, as different criteria matter to different people.
There's loads of people who have the urge to buy the newest thing every year an then sell their old stuff.
You can get very good deals if you look around fir a few weeks
