Next week when we are appropriately close enough the christmas to erect a tree.
I'll be putting ours up on the 23rd, and will probably chuck it out on the 27th.
There's a definite link between early decorations and severe mental illness.
DEAL WITH IT. It doesn't make us mental ill.
You need help pal.
I love Christmas as well, but it's one day of the year which we already fan out to three just to make it a bit more of a celebration. One of my neighbours has had his exterior decorations up since mid-October. A longtime friend who previously seemed quite sane has been talking about buying presents since early September. Both of these people are undoubtedly seriously ill. Christmas shouldn't be spoken of at all until December. Presents don't need to be bought or trees put up until a week, or absolute, absolute tops two weeks beforehand.
That's called being sensible and organized! I'd love to see you scrabbling for presents of Christmas Eve.
Everyone likes gift vouchers. Everyone likes booze. HMV, Waterstones, Debenhams, BodyShop...off licence on the way home. An hour tops.
I'm with my family over Christmas; my housemate hates Christmas; and in any event the cat would destroy it within about 10 minutes.
Shame really, as I quite like them.
My cat doesn't care about the tree
My life would be much easier
Love him to bits, mind.
my mum sent me a photo of the one back at my parents house though, so I'll claim that.
Someone made us all stockings though and made the fireplace christmasy:
just not feeling christmas this year dunno why
but then again, it might not have anything to do with that
I didn't want to leave it too late to buy one, but it's far too early to decorate it. I'm going to treat it like a massive houseplant for the next few weeks.
…………..♟☦♟…………… Merry Christmas
one year i had to put a six foot tree up by myself and it took ages
its alright not great. i;ll take a picture if anyones interested
it's a gold deco. scheme as always. sits on top of the drawers in the living room.
got a tiny one as well but it isnt decorated by choice its just a tiny one foot one that has stuff glued onto the branches
Ordered it from a farm a month ago and picked it up, freshly cut, last weekend. Seems a good idea as the needles don't shed and it's so green and lovely and dense. Decorations include Lindor tree chocolates, baubles and a little bit of tasteful tinsel. Also a home-made fairy on top with interchangeable stick-on faces of Lil B, Ren (of Ren and Stimpy fame), Toulouse Lautrec, Teddy Sheringham, Chester Bennington, my mate James, and Eddie Jordan.
