Anyone else planning to see this? I should be going on Saturday, lots of great reviews and looking forward to it.
But a) don't know anyone else who does and b) don't want to be man who goes to teenage lesbian film by himself.
Going on Saturday. Surprised to see it in my local Cineworld too.
Also, how pretty is the poster?
I hope I don't miss this.
thought it was basically glorified arse-fetish porn.
genuinely one of the creepiest, male-gaze-iest films I've ever seen.
pretty sad that it's been lauded as some brilliant example of queer cinema.
having said that both adele exarchopoulos and lea seydoux are fucking amazing. just a shame they were used as a means for abdellatif kechiche to commit his love of bums to film.
but I do feel a bit like I did when I said I was going to see Shame awhile back.
to balance out the really long sex scenes
It is unfair that this extraordinary film can be reduced to little more than a few minutes of "hot scenes". It may be the most intensive scenes but are not the most important ones.
The sentimental and sexual education of one of those girls involves something more than sex and there are a whole lot of energy and complicity in how those two girls relate each other which is strictly revealed throughout the film. It extraordinarily reinvents the passage of time in the relationship between the two characters.
Didn't really feel the sex scenes were 'middle aged man leering at women making love' myself as some have said, but I can understand why that view's been put forward.
Didn't notice the length at all and didn't think the sex scenes were particularity gratuitous, felt like it had to be that raw and intense given the build up to it. 90% if the audience at the screening I went to were men on their own, though.
Definitely going to see it again before it leaves cinemas.
I've found this is the case every time I go to see an arthouse film tbf.
Someone make the decision for me please.
It's one of the best films of the year
I saw it recently and thought it was great. Didn't think the sexual element was as sensationalist as perhaps some reviews have suggested although I could definitely see where that opinion could come from.
Personally I thought it did a really good job of illustrating the complexity that can arise with relationships and emerging sexuality.
I'm not going now
lovely stuff, cheers
tbh, I did think that the sex scenes were pretty ott. I mean they are key in showing the passion of the early relationship but I'm not sure a 10 minute lesbian 69 is best/ a necessity for that....
ALSO if you can watch this film and NOT want a plate of spaghetti at the end, well, hats off to you. I immediately made a bowl straight after the film

We need to get you a job a The Independant so we can get this quote placed on the DVD box.
...once D-Cam's pornwall is erected.
since the hot scenes already leaked on the net some time ago.
But I understand perfectly what you mean. One day after its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival this movie has supposedly already been viewed by 171 IMDb users, which 84 of them gave it 10/10.
it's the worst money you've ever spent, if your interest will be only the hot scenes.
you're the only person referring to "hot scenes" in this thread.
Anyway it's blatantly obvious that this film is dreadful and people are only pretending to like it for the softcore porn.
