It is the worst.
Those egg McMuffins arent going to serve themselves champ!
I wish it was that exciting.
In work again chaps.
Does anyone have any questions about the world of call centre work?
(what I'm really asking is 'who the fuck needs to call a call centre at 6am on a Sunday morning?')
We offer 24/7 support for customers.
No one rings on the weekend. Ever.
I worked in a place similar to this once. It was an inbound-only place that took on work for other companies. Most of it during the daytime was just taking messages for offices/companies not large enough to need a dedicated receptionist, but it was also a 24/7 place. in the evenings you'd get a mixture of calls to mail order lines (remember Atittude Clothing, that sold goffick clothes in the back of Kerrang? they were one) and emergency call out services for various councils and companies.
i used to do the occasional night shift, which were 11pm to 7am, and totally solo. you'd get MAYBE one call an hour, so I worked out that if I put the phone on maximum, and then put my head on the desk next to it, I could sleep away quite nicely and wouldn't miss a call.
once i turned up drunk and watched an entire Jean Claude van Damme movie on BBC1 without getting a phonecall. when i realised afterwards i'd been paid to watch a stupid action movie whilst drunk, well, glorious moment.
I've just been watching Epic Meal Time all morning and eaten a Subway.
0 calls so far.
