With Mac probably having about 25% of all the views in that top block.
To be fair, I think the problem is with Google's font rendering.
Even on a Mac it's hardly a nice font to read on a screen in.
the font is still an horrific choice for sustained reading on a computer screen, even when it looks "right".
in this day and age if something as basic as running Chrome or IE9 on XP or Windows 7 makes your site difficult to use, your designer was doing something wrong.
I still don't understand why any web designer would want to use a serif font in the first place, but if you're going to do it, then testing on the most common platforms and browsers would seem to be a pre-requisite.

get the supplier to paint them in rainbow colours, and when the client complains they don't work, tell them it's because they don't understand their requirements.
