They were really funny.
They WERE funny.
but Murray was in an episode of How I Met Your Mother last week so I guess he's fallen on hard times.
But it's one of the biggest shows in the US, so hardly bottom of the ladder stuff to be guesting on it
rather than actually saying it was a sign of a career low.
he was basically playing the same character as FOTC so it was a bit sad seeing him go from a show with that kind of credibility to a mediocre sitcom with a laugh track.
That ship had long since sailed
last time I heard they were grounded
haven't seen his act at all tho
It all seems a long time ago now.
and then it got better I think. Worse songs though. Oh, I can't remember.
Songs: Worse. Writing: Better.
Overall it was roughly as good.
But it did have Too Many Dicks on the Dancefloor
I really liked the second season as much as the first. I'm sort of glad they had the integrity to end it themselves (so that it's just this great series that ended on its own terms and didn't decline massively); but I also do kind of hope they do a tiny bit more.
I think the songs were good too.
It was just the first episode which completely failed to work well.
was essentially taken up with being one big reset switch, which might be why it wasn't too good.
The opera moment was funny but not as a song and I think they ended with a really old one that didn't actually fit the story, something like that.
They just finished a tour with Dave Chappelle in the states.
Murray (Rhys) still does stand-up and is going to be on Letterman this week I think. He also had a book out recently. He does loads of stuff in NZ.
Wasn't Jermaine in Men In Black 3?
I maketh not the rules, quoth he
Yeah, we know. That's the point.
Deservedly so too. He's doing songs for the sequel I think. Jemaine seems to be developing a career as villain in not very good films (Rio, Men in Black 3)
They're pretty much all good after the first one. The Tough Brets (episode 3) is superrb.
I vaguely remember that the songs were not only not that good, a lot of them were mixed weirdly and you couldn't hear the lyrics very well.
is one of the best episodes in both series. seem to remember it was directed by Gondry wasn't it?
there are a couple of great episodes (that one and the epileptic dog one) but aren't there like 12 episodes in the series? Can barely remember the others.
only on my penis
Thats cool, I met a new girl too / Have you? / Yea / One of those girls you met on the net? / No, we really met / Well thats great news, whats she like? What does she do? / All I know dawg, is that she's careless with her dog / I'm not sure what she does, except she makes me want her / She makes me want to get on top of her / Oh that sounds great man, thats sounds great / Hey, wait / What / Maybe I'm crazy, but when did you meet this lady? / Just then / When? / Then / Right then? / Right then / Where? / There / Over there? / Over there / Over there there? / Over there there there / Just now? / Just now / How'd you meet your lady? / I was going for a jog then she lost a dog / I was running in the area and she lost a terrier / Was this about 20 seconds ago? / No, about 23 seconds ago
The way she looks left a lot.
Pre cursor to the tv show. Set in London. Even better in my opinion.
but honestly, it is. Excellent narration from rob brydon, too.
i had a listen after the tv series finished. i'd say it was up there with the show, some great guest comedians too.. but idk, i don't find myself returning to it, and i do like the visual presentation/gags of the series.
You'll remember the jingle.
Turns out I was right, it's not as good. The songs were weak, the jokes were a bit more laboured (the Prime Minister of New Zealand was flogging a dead horse a bit) and the supporting characters were overused (except Dave).
DIMINISHING RETURNS. Still decent though.
Greg's appearance on Stay Cool especially
but it thins them out too much.
if you get the opportunity.
