of the factory where those fucking Catholic terrorist masks are made
Seems unnecessarily negative to Catholic.
as his idea was to install a Catholic theocratic regime in place of the existing ruling elite
but that's because he had some crazy ideas.
I don't think the phrase 'Muslim terrorist' is particularly good either. Anyone can find an ideology to match their crazies.
Pretty sure the whole Protestant v. Catholic thing was quite a big deal at the time Theo.
Calling Guy Fawkes a Catholic terrorist seems (crudely) accurate in a way that using it for, say, the IRA wouldn't be.
Yeah it was a pretty big deal at the time. Are you aware that bears shit in the woods?
You've missed my point, however.
Don't bother to explain it though, you're probably still wrong.
I did explain it. It doesn't matter that he was Catholic or not. It is completely irrelevant to the point of him being a terrorist except as a method to try to stain one thing with another thing.
I perfectly understand the point you’re making – calling someone a ‘X terrorist’ is usually as nonsensical and simplistic as saying “they attacked us because they hate our freedoms”.
Guy Fawkes though was explicitly trying to create a Catholic state through assassination and subsequent revolution. Given that was also the defining issue of his day then saying he had some ‘crazy ideas’ somewhat misses the point.
Although, I would say the separation of state and religion is important. And while it's fine to say that in context there was nothing crazy about his Catholic state idea, I think you can also look on the past and say, "Yeah that was fucked up,"?
and just start producing these with the fedora already attached?
Because obviously there's the popular Linux distro and I keep noticing friends on FB who still only know it as a hat.
fedora is a pretty shit one
and kind of a US-centric thing I guess.
working overtime, fighting crime
