Guys how's your Tuesday going?
I hadn't heard of it before, assumed it was some horrific one off from decades back. Not very nice at all.
Why'd she care? Oh, unless it was about religious rights. Fair enough.
But this "Most adults are infected with the herpes simplex virus type 1". http://i63.servimg.com/u/f63/16/13/29/16/whaaaa10.jpg
Particularly where religion isn't involved
It's really weird for religion and should ONLY be done for medical reasons. I say that as someone who fits into the latter category.
The content of the OP made me physically shudder. So grim.
religion is religion and people do all manner of strange things under that banner. At least there is some sort of internal logic for administering the procedure, whether you agree with it or not.
As far as I am aware, there are very few situations these days where circumcison is medially necessary, so to have it done anyway (where there is no religious imperative) seems far stranger
But I think there's a lot of hysteria about it which is dubious and unhelpful.
I thought I read somewhere that the potential risks outweigh any potential benefits.
I understand why there was a 'fashion' for circumcision up until 30/40 years ago, but this doesn't seem to apply today.
they're not circumcised. theyre rank enuff looking if they are, no need to keep it in an ugly skin sleeve.
Yeah, having a rabbi put his mouth on your baby sons penis isn't in the slightest bit weird
That's way messed up.
and that was messed up enough for me.
Not my bag, maaaaan.
What was ritualised for adherents' safety and wellbeing hundreds of years ago has now been superseded by science, modern hygiene and medicine, and so now all that remains is the religious connotations.
One would hope that those administering these rites are able to see the spirit in which they were originally crafted, and are consequently welcoming to attempts to update the procedures to better safety standards.
Pigs: other groups ate them during ancient times and did fine. If kosher was for safety reasons then they guidelines would be something like: "cook yr delicious pork belly long and good to kill all of dem germs". Instead it is more like "don't eat pork at all (cause thats what those dirty cunts across the narrow sea do and we are not like them)"
Goes the same for cutting off dicks: "we are cutting this non-essential part of you dick off so that you are forever marked as part of our gang (and not those dirty dicked cunts from across the narrow sea, what a bunch of pricks, am i rite?)"
a) in hot countries where Judaism and Islam started pork went off quicker then other meats so could be more dangerous to eat. Plus are/were there that many pigs in the midle east?
And obv christianity comes from there too but did it develop more in europe where the climbate is colder and pigs more common? (Can't convert the locals if you tell them they can't eat a major food source).
b) Isn't there a thing in the old testament where God puts evil spirits in pigs and makes them run off a cliff?
As for circumsision, it's not just abrahamic religions that do it. A lot of tribes in africa do/did it as they saw the foreskin as ''feminine'' and had to be removed to become a man (also the clitoris was seen as masculine leading to the whole FMG thing). It could be why Judaism et al took it up initially cos it was already practiced by the people there?
and other non-kosher stuff like shellfish is obviously linked to food poisoning so shut up. Not sure cooking procedures were sophisticated enough 'back then' for it to be easy to say 'just make sure you cook it *enough*'.
based on ahem ahem ahem oral tradition before it was written up by ye ancient administrators? Saying 'steer clear' makes much more sense than specifying cooking times.
Pigs eat anything and don't seem to care that they're knee deep in mud and shit. This is what I was told by Muslims.
they're seen as unclean.
Do Jews like dogs?
Canaan dog is Israel's only native breed and is now recognized throughout the world. They are known for being intelligent, wary of strangers, good with children, and for their lack of aggression.
