Felt like he was genuinely angry the first time I saw it but watched it again and I don't think he is
fetch him some Scooby Snacks.
and everyone knows once youve reached proper sulk face, there's no going back. he done well to not smash more things tbh.
Not watched Buzzcocks in years. Except last week, when I found it a bit weird and confusing
Eamon Holmes was much better at hosting it than I was expecting.
Can't remember them now
There was an American female comedian hosting it. I actually thought she'd probably be quite funny to watch live but wasn't convinced she worked on the show...
and those presenters were awful, I'd of been sick of it after filming a show with them,in the end, everyone came out looking a cock.
it takes about ninety minutes to film an episode. imagine spending that long listening to rizzle kicks?
and the really weak writing. i don't get how they manage to make their jokes so much worse than all the other not that good panel shows
THE GUEST HOST SYSTEM DOESN'T WORK
Obviously it's hit and miss by the very nature of having a different host each week, but some of them can be reasonable.
Do miss Simon Amstell, though.
He knew it! I did it and he went yeah that one! :DD
Amstell could be funny...but he had a poor idea of where he stood as a presenter (which is how most comdeians-turned-presenters end up). Sometimes he was pally to the point of nausea, and others he was over-the-top hostile. Lamarr, by comparison, always got the balance right; like a witty teacher who still knew he was above you in authority.
You don't know
Eschew his better judgement to get chummy with some d-listers, is pretty offputting.
like it did with Lamarr and Amstell. Like, many of the guest hosts will just fall back on the formulas -- whereas the previous actual hosts (primarily Lamarr) would be in a good position to play around with the format and stop it from drifiting into mediocre sameyness.
Incidentally, Adam Buxton was good at imbuing the show with his own identity -- even if it did make the whole thing less hostile than it traditionally is known for
And a genuinely nice guy. Had a beer with him after Josh Pearson at Union Chapel a few years ago. Top bloke.
But needs a regular presenter... can feel Hueys pain the presenters were annoying. Phils face was a picture and the general sense of awkwardness at the end was quite enjoyable too
NMTB's annoying rubbish for teenagers these days.
who smashes a mug that close to two other people who could have been easily hurt? lunatic.
How does he get his fingers out of the handle so quick? He's got his middle fingers through the handle when he lifts it up
They seem alright to me.
nb. Haven't seen this episode.
all of it
can only conclude that most of you are fucking stupid pieces of shit idk
but right now i definitely can't remember what it was. fair play to them though
but they seemed like really nice people.
Who smashes a mug over a pop quiz? I used to think Huey Morgan was alright but what a fucking stupid childish thing to do. Prick
i'm not defending him. clearly a dickhead thing to do. i'm saying the edit probably makes rizzla kicks look a lot less annoying than they are
Don't know when to shut up
make another man sing
is helm that right word there? doesn't it mean hat? war hat?
enjoyed this exchange :D
...and it is amazing. Still painful to watch.
I think he did the right thing. It wasn't a publicity seeking strop, and came from a genuine place i.e. standing up for his partner.
but I think he was pretty embarrassed by her, which is what makes it so painful. He can't defend the book, so he just walks off, then divorces her a few months later.
and throwing a mug that could have hurt someone. That's a grown man right there.
you need someone who is prepared to be a bigger dick than the panellists like lamarr or amstell
Rizzle Kicks are proper bellends, Huey Whatsisname is a bellend, but the mugsmashing and the following awkwardness was great.
but he was still excruciatingly bad
Really pathetic childish reaction from a guy who likes to think he's down with the New Joy-sy hoodlums
tapping Phil on the arm to get his attention at the end, and getting absolutely nothing. The look on his face as he realises his shame is complete is brilliant.
Love how his whole 'thing' is how cool and laid back he is, and then he acts like a furious 12-year-old over nothing.
Huey from Fun lovin criminals is famous for being bad tempered.
I didn't even realise it was still on it's about as current as Glenn Medeiros. I feel that's being harsh on Glenn as well
presumably all of us here never watch the show but here we are watching a clip and talking about it.
i don't know anyone who still watches it so the timing of this could be seen as suspect.
might be bollocks though.
if so they should all be professional actors.
and the others didn't know.
i don't really know or care, just seems like a thing that could be a thing.
surely they'd stop if he did that.
There's been as bad on there. Preston walking out. Gail Porter crying.
Nobody else has a mug.
as do the others on their round
I didn't watch the whole thing.
and not particularly in the right frame of mind. Huey is okay.
What a bell
make "conscientious hip hop"
but saying it again for emphasis. anyone who thinks this is staged needs to watch it properly. the reactions are clearly genuine
I don't think he'd be allowed to smash a mug on the desk right next to people's faces and it fly everywhere.
to guarantee the trajectory of mug-pieces wouldn't cause facial injury.
so it would be a give away.
Huey's well known for being bad tempered on live shows. I remember when he started having a go at The Word presenter that I can't remember's name (Not Terry Christian).
are there a lot of points up for grabs for pretending you hate noel fielding or something?
"Fuck that shit. Kenickie? Please".
sort of can't imagine it though
In an era where every bloody half-arsed Indie band got a fair amount of interest they still failed to really make an impression. I like Lauren Laverne, though.
(ie shut up Theo)
Even the roast eater opposite me.
I don't watch it and I don't watch it. For I am a man of integrity and honour. Not even the last five minutes.
Looks like the mug comes apart before it hits the desk.
Staged- Reckon they were due a walk-off to keep it edgy...
the rest of the cup would go up as well you idiots
That's two pieces of the cup broke off behind his head before the rest of the cup has hit the table
And I'm a trustworthy young man
it's all so blurred, it's part of the set. it's not a good quality image at all. look at the smear of mug in the air. this is all wrong
so much uncertainty
stop being a mad conspiracy theorist and leave the house more. you'll end up like moker
Dunno how he's managed that
i was looking for a breaking bad reference as soon as it opened
It ran out of steam after about 3 series.
The format was tired long before Lamarr left.
Anyone watching even a second of it in the last fifteen years should be gassed.
I'm in no way unreasonable on this one.
conspiracy theories about a man breaking a cup
Its definitely fake. The cup throwing was improvised. He was told to storm off though.
