4 day week.
i feel extremely grubby today.
stood at the bus stop in the rain
had a nice weekend. the weather is stunning today, wish i was off and walking the dog in a frozen park.
yesterday it was amazing but on saturday it was so fucking wet and dog shit.
I was in Oxford in late November a couple of years ago and it was dead nice. And actually I was in Oxford in late November last year too.
if you want a visitor. If not please come to Glasgow. You can stay at my parents house it'd be really funny.
Still can't prevent my commute/traffic rage though.
He wants to go to Munich next year, and I suddenley panciked at how I could possibly pay for it, and in fact, how I could pay for anything beyond basically existing in the near future. Then called my parents for a reassuring chat but my dad was pretty stressed out too.
On a micro level I need to get through my meeting this morning.
On a macro level I need a new job.
Somewhere in between I just need to breathe a bit.
Ghost Stories. It's co-op (or single player), pretty hard and dead good. We played it four times, and won once - on the easiest difficulty, and with some good luck.
The shop I got it from is pretty cool ("cool"). I asked the guy if they did any gaming nights, and he said Mondays are roleplay, Tuesdays are wargames, Thursdays are general board or card games and Friday is Magic.
I'd like to go on Thursday, but when I went in the place was full of teenage boys and smelled like it. I don't want to be the oldest person there by ten years (and I'm not even old!)
Also, won the pub quiz last night. Woo.
Annoyingly close to work. As if being the old guy at a gaming night wouldn't be bad enough, logistically it would make sense if I was also "weirdo in suit".
My uncle left the heater on all yesterday and so the meter ran out gutted. Another £20 down the swanny. He did buy me a can of coke to apologise. Also, getting bored talking about unemployment.
Weirdly, when I went bowling two people who I worked with are now working there (D94) and said I'd have hated it. Also, its 2 hours to get there in a morning. I don't travel 2 hours for anything.
Nottinghams dead. I hate it now.
Didn't do much Friday, went to Blackheath fireworks on Saturday evening, was really good. Then pubbed and forgot we weren't on a nightbus route home and had to get a ridiculous number of buses back. Got in at 3am or something silly.
Yesterday went out for lunch, then to the Horniman. AQUARIUM! Crystal Palace International Film Festival last night, saw some amazing short films, all for free. Was so good I'm gonna go to their animations evening on Thursday.
Breaking Bad pub quiz tomorrow: BRING IT!
more details please
(i've still not finished BB. I'm saving it for xmas)
If anyone wants to join our (not up to scratch) team of three then give me a shout.
but I fear spoilers and Sam has never seen breaking bad so we'd be shit
After a beer festival in Norwich on Saturday night and Nick Cave at KOKO last night. Such an amazing gig, plus Kylie Minogue came on for the encore! Quite weird seeing a room full of middle-aged goths go nuts for Kylie.
FOTL, Wedding and GFs birthday all in the same week. I'm pretty much flat broke.
And my hair resembles a sheep. It's just so big,
Someone ring me something greasy
last night excellent stuff. Less excellent was buying a new pair of smart trousers for work, and realizing that the sales person had left the security tag on them, once I got home on looking forward to taking them back without looking like I'm trying to rob the place (probably won't be an issue I have a receipt).
Currently working from home but will probably end up heading into the office later.
Had plum cider and toffee apple cider on Saturday night in Wansworth.
I still have tonsillitis and the penicillin is making me feel TERRIBLE
which was nice. expensive pubs, but nice.
mate coming down on weds and we're going to have beer and things when that happens.
Pretty chuffed with that. Have loads to do at work, don't know where to start.
12 more shifts till freedom though.
Spent last night looking at house sitting gigs. Looks like a fun way to travel on the cheap.
I love a good house party.
listening to cut copy and drinking beer. yep.
disregard the above post, actually feel a bit shit now, might turn in and have an early night.
gonna wash my locks then get taken out for a Monday Breakfast Muffin and Mocha. Meeting tiramisu for a coffee at 3 in the postgrad club.
no work this week. quite pleased about it.
today I have tickets for the tennis at the O2. have been before, should be quite good although the lineup for today (wawrinkwa v berdych and del potro vs gasquet) is somewhat worse than tomorrow's (nadal v ferrer and federer v djokovic). got the tickets via my wife's work, who have a box there and sell the tickets if they're not using them for corporate nonsense. we're the only ones who actually bought tickets though so it'll just be us there. so yeah, have my own box at the O2 for the day.
went to the gym then had some band photos taken. Then I had band practice followed by a house party and got absolutely wrecked. I can't handle my drink anymore. Think I may go teetotal for a month. My 11 year old cousin was up from Wales yesterday so I took him to Ed's diner for milkshakes. I wanted to jump back on the train with him/ Miss my family:(
urgh you monster
Cups of tea - 0
I want a cup of tea.
Stayed in Friday.
Went to Windsor for afternoon tea on Saturday then went back into Reading and met a few friends at the pub, halloween party at a friend of a friends and got back home at 4am.
Slept in until almost 1pm yesterday, walked to tescos and then made a lasagne with BF. I made the bologanise and he did the cheesy bechamel and assembled it. Delicious.
tarted series 4 of Buffy. Went to bed at half 10.
I love my friends <3
Have to go to Birmingham later (not a specific downer - quite like Brum) for an interview, the outcome of which will confirm if I stil have a job. It's also the 1st anniversary of meeting my (now ex-) gf. Just feel so sad how things have worked out, how different things were this time last year.
Sorry DiS: I don't normally come here and give it the ''woe-is-me'' bit. As silky might say:
I talk too much
You're a nice fella.
Sunny, blue skies, brisk and a bit chilly but not much wind. Perfect autumn day really.
i think thats going to be how i like doing it. we should all do that instead of dragging it out i reckon
but I'm also going to try and go home as early as possible on Friday.
On a bloody Monday!
Had a great weekend, thursday night parquet courts at mono and it was brilliant. Fri night out withe a bunch of friends and back to another friends till the wee small hours listening to music.
Sat met up with some more friends and laughed and laughed till i passed out.
Bumped into my ex, we hung out for a while and had a great wee time, almost forgetting that we're both super upset at how our relationship turned out and how we were once super fucking happy and engaged to be married only for it to all fall away. The day didn't end well, lots of tears and hugging! :(
Didn't sleep a wink last night and actually went out for a big walk about about 4am this morn to try and clear my head.
sorry lo-pan. Bumping into an ex like that is so awful and heart wrenching and I don't know about you, maybe not at this stage, but it makes me angry too as it's not been my choice to be in that situation and it ruins my day/week whatever against my will. I feel your pain, big hugs <3
Yeah its absolutely shit, awful & heart wrenching. Glasgow's a small wee place, so its gonna happen from time to time.
Hate feeling like this.
I promise. And one day you'll be so happy and forget that you ever felt so sad xx
makes it soo much funnier
funny > sharp
If it's not sharp enough, send it back.
sorted my head out about soem stuff, saw my family on sunday, got on really well with my brother which was really nice as he used to hate me, it kindof made me mum cry a bit as i think she's given up on us ever being friendly.
so yeah, all good
Gave me a lift. Nice one chris
I had to put in a name but we've not got one yet and now I'm hoping my boss sees it and is like YEAH!
35 more work days til next holiday...
as are my parents. So all is well here.
Had a practice with a friend for this Zounds / Pog thing we're doing in Greece. I bought a suitcase and I plan to turn it into a pedal board, although I'm confident I'll never actually make it happen. OH, I got a Wolf Eyes album in a charity shop!
Where can I get good / cheap suits?
