my university seems to be hosting a fanpage for laibach.
actually have no idea whats going on here
Mine was taken up with animations we'd made of our lecturers.
One of my coursemates' pages was simply called 'Jim Rosenthal is a twat'.
to host the page(s)
Just about every student I know took advantage of their university account and set up their own really basic page.
The spoddy ones made it into a CV, and the rest of us set up fan sites and joke sites.
Lots of fan sites started off being hosted on university domains.
i would have thought the university would have taken them down?
i wanna meet this donald guy for a coffee or something. donald if you're reading this, see you in the gilchrist yeah?
i'm happy to except it used to be a thing but it just seems weird that the pages all still exist?
it just seems weird that the page seems to be the only one of its kind that's managed to survive and is also being semi-regularly updated. i remember societies used to host pages on the glasgow site, so maybe it was originally a society page? idk where are you donald campbell answer our questions
might have completely made that up though
the video i posted is of a film about them featuring him. i went to see the pervert's guide to ideology recently and he makes similar points about rammstein in it. which made me think of them.
not got around to watching pervert's guide to ideology yet, as a lot of people were complaining about the length, and figured watching it on at home might be more palatable
there's not very much new in terms of ideas and stuff. i think basically every point he makes in the film is something ive read elsewhere and the structure of the film is almost identical to this: http://www.introducingbooks.com/book/view/slavoj-zizek-a-graphic-guide
still it's always great to watch people being funny and interesting
just watched a couple of things (zizek!, the first pervert's guide), and read some articles and stuff
haven't had the courage to read any of his actual books and I'm probably not clever enough anyway.
this is a good intro http://www.amazon.co.uk/Zizek-Guide-Perplexed-Guides/dp/1441180877 and the graphic guide i posted above was more at my level and really easy to grasp.
ever since they were accused of being fascists back in the early-90s.

Apparently all they did was put on that album they did of Bach covers and sit in the middle of the stage playing chess.
