go nuts, nerds:
I'd raise it as a bug for the new site team but it seems to be stopping you personally so I'm not convinced that counts as a bug.
Anyone would think that it's written in to the site to stop other people looking dim.
Judging from that trailer it sounds like Singer's basically using time travel to undo X-Men 3?
Haven't seen it in years, but I'm pretty sure that a) there was no proof Cyclops died (and who'd care if he had, whiny bastard), b) the last bit before the credits (I think?) shows Magneto getting his powers back, and c) the bit after the credits shows Xavier as having survived by stealing someone else's body. Although it would mean getting a different actor to play him, which would be a bit shit.
Can't remember anything else of note happening.
that would be nice
Black comedy Alien FTW.
But don’t start trolling me on Sci-Fi man, everyone hates that pile of garbage including all the people who made it.
Then you get to the Newborn and I just turn it off.
Prior to that it's Whedon's Firefly prototype crew, which is great to watch and, honestly, it is interesting to see the black humour that Jean-Pierre Jeunet brings to it. It *IS* ludicrous but there's no way to top Aliens. Alien³'s only positive is giving us Fincher but it's so PONDEROUS. Here you have a really good set of characters and an interesting if dubious idea. The scene where Ripley finds all the early failed clones of herself is excellent.
He also says he's prouder of the episode of Murder She Wrote that he's erroneously credited with than Alien: Resurrection. But that doesn't change the fact that everything about that crew is what went on to form Firefly. The whole dynamic of it is there, even if the characters are far less likeable. It has two Whedon traits standing out, which are superhuman women, with the Android being proto-River.
Just wanted to say it all makes more sense if you watch the Quadrilogy alternative cut of Alien: Resurrection with the opening sequence that's clearly designed to be comic:
I think he says that they either didn't let him have that or they couldn't afford it. Either way, if you start the film with that it's hard not to accept that his is a very different sort of film to the previous instalments.
how did you manage to set that 3 in superscript?
I think it's unique to PCs, by the way. It's basically a way to get to all the extended ASCII characters, although the vast majority don't parse though on here. ² and ³ do, nicely.
I've got a mac.
where Perlman nearly ruins the basketball shot because it was done in one take and he couldn't believe it.
Worried this won't have much Fassbendertime.
First Class was the only good one. I'm not sure I'll bother with this. I think I only care about superhero films when they're MCU ones.
He means all the Marvel Studio stuff with Iron Man and the Avengers.
Either you got that wrong deliberately so that you didn't look like a nerd, or you got it wrong by mistake and have now been shown up by nerds.
Either way: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MDtSf9pseOw
I just guessed what it might stand for.
first at this run of comic book adaptations
Needs to have lots of Fassbender!!
Why are they trying to make it look like it'll be shit?
If I wanted overwrought melodrama, I wouldn't ordinarily choose to watch an X-Men film (more likely, I'd check myself into a mental hospital), but that trailer's trying to convince me otherwise.
"Patience isn't my strongest suiARGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH"
"The X-Men ensemble fights a war for the survival of the species across two time periods in X-Men: Days of Future Past. The characters from the original X-Men film trilogy join forces with their younger selves from X-Men: First Class in a battle that must change the past – to save their future."
I can count on one hand the number of films I've seen that handle time travel in a way that makes any kind of logical sense. Basically, YOU CAN'T CHANGE THE PAST.
Back to the Future is fine despite being entirely illogical. Getting hung up on logicalities of time travel isn't an issue as long as your film works okay.
And it does sound like a proper comic book synopsis to me.
He's too tall and clean cut, he should be an angry hairy midget (like PickledOuef).
NB My idea of Wolverine is based largely (entirely) on X-Men vs Streetfighter.
seen to have done a good job getting a stellar cast which are presumably tied into contracts for these movies now.
but the latest set of comics use time travel.. is it based on those? (called all new X men)
very loosely based
But I'm sure they said there were sentinels in this film? Hence the inclusion of the midget, as he's the guy who invents them isn't he?
I hope About A Boy Boy isn't in it as Beast again.
a company making sentinels
here's their website
probs my favourite superhero franchise (yup). Looking forward to this muchly. Though as has been said above i'm a bit iffy as to how the plot will pan out.
Kidding. Of course, I don't have a history of X-Men comics for X3 to kick the shit out of.
The third one was such a shame, the second one is probably my favourite super hero film and lined things up nicely for the dark Phoenix story, to think that Bryan singer jumped ship for superman returns
I'm not really sure it's *that* bad, it's more like a good film looking for some editing.
Robert Redford! a crashing helicarrier! overtones of being a political thriller type thing!
looks pretty sweet.
is it a requirement that trailers use these two bits of music? keep hearing them over and over again.
from sunshine and inception, i believe.
always seem to be reheated when someone is need of some quick gravitas and they haven't knocked anything up of their own yet.
really fucking boring, and the film looks shit.
The Thin Red Line.
It's pretty lazy, yeah.
they sound quite similar i guess. FUCK YOU HANS.
