Tell me of your...Monday evening and plans for the day etc.
How's your love life also?
I saw deafheaven last night, unbelievable
so even the band themselves are finally admitting that everything they did after mare was shite. cool.
let people enjoy music without getting snooty about it.
It was an absolutely wonderful gig.
is the new stuff as good as mare? no. will it ever be? no. but even then it's still better than a lot of bands' attempts to sound like that. Also they are incredibly tight with every single song live too.
This guy hates Glassjaw, nothing to see here.
I will reply though as I'm bored. Tell me about this MtG Draft thing c_r, is it an online game?
i went to one last week. each player is given 3 booster packs that contain 15 cards and you sit ruond a table. everyone opens the first pack, takes one card and passes to the left into they're all gone. then the same happens with the other two packs. the challenge is to build a deck that works on the fly from a limited selection of cards. then you play games and the winner..well the winner wins. my match record was 0-3 and my total game record was 0-6 :D
i used to play. Feel like we need a DiSM:tG event.
That sounds amazing. I really really loved MtG when I was younger, found all my cards the other day when I was clearing out my room. Wonder if I can find someone to play with me.
Not quite Oxford :/
shall we do this pass-the-pack thing? or just standard me wishing green and white made a good deck and losing
but i don't know how drafting would work out with a smaller number. obvs we'd have to buy three packs each, i could bring a load of spare basic land but everyone would be forced to maybe even play three colurs, maybe more. which does make it harder. regardless, i'm up for it
but the must really doesn't suck.
I didn't say the music sucks at all. But like a lot of bands they put out a record they've struggled to ever beat? So what? Jesus fucking christ this board can be proper dismal.
but they always did
but outside of this song i've never understood why they're so revered
and DEFINITELY the stuff they put on the split with Juno
I'm a big fan of how none of them look like they should be playing the music
same for the support act, called Wode. One looked like an indie kid, the singer stood a bit stadium rock, played ridiculously good black metal
if i don't get it then i'll cry
fell asleep watching a doc about broadmoor
today's gonna be dull most likely
and more importantly did you beat your colleague?
was too busy facebooking a Panto Star.
Didn’t go down well. Not well at all.
Today work will continue to be boring as stuff winds down, then tonight I’m going for a supposedly *authentic* curry with a girl. I’ll know more about my love life after that.
never really finding happiness?
Yes I suppose I am a bit of a Restoration rake.
He was awesome.
We'll hopefully be announcing our next gig/show today as well. Keep your eyes peeled!
And I WILL.
HURRY UP GIG ANNOUNCEMENT!
taking me mam to the latter. she's wanted to go for ages so i'm taking her.
Woke up to pouring rain but now its clear and sunny in Manchester.
Been single for nearly 3 years but started seeing the hottest girl i've ever dated about a month ago and is going VERY well.
Also tomorrow. Need it to be payday now, not Thursday
watched Blue Velvet, drank a bottle of red wine and then ate cheese and port. Went to gym early on, ran solidly for eleven minutes which, well, is quite impressive for someone as unfit as me.
Today: made it to work, might do a pub quiz later.
I am seriously suggestable.
absolutely crushed the guy. He's a decent player too so i'm chuffed with that
then i stayed up til 1 analysing the game and now i am tired
Listened to Arcade Fire, watched the final episode of Series 2 Walking Dead, can't find a stream of any more - fuck!
Ate fish pie (not a euphemism)
Today: Work, might watch Arsenal and Chelsea reserves on the box. Yeah, another boring day.
I've got Netflix and Lovefilm
or Unblock US.
he's pretty low at the moment. This probably sounds really shit of me but I'm worried it'll cause a rift between us.
aaaaanyway... watched loads of 24 instead. Today I came into work really early to get away from real life stuff.
Between the hours of four and five this morning, the pizza destroyed me.
Still, I feel light as air today, so that's good.
ate some stale cheerios whilst watching The Walking Dead, and then went to bed.
it was so cold last night i slept wearing a jumper. scotland.
who doesn't sleep in a jumper in winter?
High Score = 30,343+1.33/3
Today - work, then game night
Love life - non-existent
That's got to cross the line from bad hangover to alcohol poisoning right?
Didn't come to work yesterday because the trains were fucked from the storm. No one's told me to use up a days leave for it yet so I'm just going to hope its a freebie.
Going to see the Boomtown rats tonight with my father. I don't know much of their stuff
I Don't Like Tuesdays
Fucking hate tuesdays
After 3 1/2 years of long distance, I am finally moving in with the thinly veiled. Excited though slightly apprehensive but ecstatically happy!
bloke who got me the job i'm in now said he had somewhere i'd be perfect for and to give the interview a go, so i might as well.
worked from home but didn't actually do that much work. plus what I was doing was kind of fun, in a boring developer sort of way.
today: finishing off what I didn't finish yesterday, counting down the hours left of work til Friday 5pm because I am off all of next week
love life: meh
which actually wasn't bad because there was plenty of space on the tube for once watched The Good Wife which was pretty crazy, new firms, lots of drama, good stuff.
Today/tonight: I'm interviewing someone and registering with my GP might watch homelands.
looking up holidays! Suggested to the TV we go to Budapest and she said yeah. Found a nice deal on Peasyjet, £180pp including flights, 4* centrally located hotel and breakfast. Is that good?
Love life ok. I always thought she was pretty icy and stiff when we were friends but she's actually as cuddlysoft and affectionate as a fresh puppy, which is nice.
Which airport's the flight from?
you in for band practice on Sunday dude?
i went with my bf and friend for a week and we just rented a tiny flat.
but you can get cheap accomodation in budapest - a decent 3 star maybe 4 should be about £40 per night. then they have a tourist tax too which i think is £1 per person per night. not sure where you're flying from either but flights to budapest shouldn't be more than £100 all in. i think £180 sounds like a good deal if it's including breakfast. i always opt for breakfast in hotels. it's definitely the right thing to do.
its such a lovely day to be hungover, gonna go shopping for some underwear and headphones.
Love life: has potential.
Also - picturing you just staying in one shape all night.
pulling some shape just makes it sound like i was getting off with a triangle.
Got back from Amsterdam on Sunday evening so spent yesterday on the sofa, finally got around to watching 'Cabin in The Woods' I enjoyed it but was like WHAT THA FUCK?! Also watched Thor in preparation for Avengers Assemble. What other superhero films do I need to watch for AA? I now fancy Chris Hemsworth.
Watched loads of US office too. Almost finished the 7th series, why doesn't Netflix have the rest? Dreamt about The Office, I think i was Jim and myself, it was really vivid but has faded now.
Tonight I don't know. Garlic burgers for dinner with home made chips. What other sides do people have with burgers? I'm tired.
Amsterdam is EXPENSIVE. I want to go again with a group of friends.
My love life is awesome, thanks. Totally in love <3
My little sisters ticket came in todays post :D
....and thus watch all the US office episodes.
Incredible Hulk (Ed Norton one)
Iron Man 2
Iron Man 3
And remember to watch the scenes after the credits as they are often the Avenger related bits.
Was there a scene after the credits in Thor? Might have to go back and check this evening.
I've never really fancied Iron Man but have noticed recently that quite a few of my film buff friends really rate it.
It would help if I found Robert Downey Jr more attractive I think (shallow).
Thor one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A5CU4HqQ5EU
Iron Man's prob my favourite of them all (after Avengers). Iron Man 2 isn't as good but introduces another of the Avengers and is worth a watch.
Captain America is another fav cos I'm a sucker for 1940's adventure type things.
Hulk you could skip as it doesn't tie in much and is the weakest of the series (but still watchable).
And do them all.
I do rather enjoy superhero films.
corn on the cob
I will be part of your group of friends.
Only 8 hours to go :/
was really good. Took me 2 and a half hours to get back from Dalston to Kilburn though. Thankfully I've got today off work due to my weekend endeavours.
Today: food shopping, clothes shopping, cooking. DOMESTIC. Might go to the cinema this afternoon, although it'd have to be on my own as everyone else is at work.
fairly promising, certainly by my standards anyway.
I've decided I'm going to get a banh mi for lunch from somewhere. I'm a little bit too excited about this.
At least you had Howlett for company for some of it I hear?
Going to the cinema on your own is ace. I wish I could do it more often. Would much rather be doing that than sitting here pretending to work today.
this was at the point when I still thought I was going to get a Thameslink train from St Pancras. STORMAGEDDON put an end to that though, and then TFL kept lying to me about non-existent night buses.
Yeah I'm probably gonna go see either The World's End or The Way Way Down at the Prince Charles Cinema. £4 for a ticket, winner.
yeah daytime lone cinema is the best
it only took me half an hour to get to and from Peckham last night, don't understand what this supposed storm is supposed to have done :P
Fair play, think that's the latest gig I've been to in a long time!
Last time I went to the cinema on my own in the day was to see The Master. Sat and read my book and had a pint in the Half Moon in Stepney Green beforehand in the winter sun. Ah, to be unemployed again.
be like "sorry mate, don't want the job, enjoy drinking and watching films during the day too much"
What are you doing? When do you start?
Also I saw Pantha Du Prince with the Bell Laboratory at Unsound in an old tram shed in a museum (http://tinyurl.com/lyeoxkk) and it was fucking *incredible*. They came out and walked through the crowd with the hand bells and it was a proper goosebumps moment.
box office admin at The Royal Academy of Music (University of Arts London), start thursday!
Celebratory Halloween Fugazi drinks on Thursday night it is.
though it turns out we're *headlining* and it's my second day of work the next day. Mind you, they may as well get used to me being hung over and tired and just surviving the last day of the week its what they signed up for
I have Friday off in 'preparation' for Fabric i.e. sleeping all day so I can survive past 3am.
Realised I should stop going to gigs for 18 year olds.
Had a nice little dance on the balcony of scala with my TV though so it was alright.
cuz i'm embracing LDN life?
hoping it will just be a nice catching up and hanging out as friends thing but suspect it might morph into Serious Chats that i can't really be bothered with tbh. also i was the dumper but now his love life is going better than mine :'( in theory i want to do the post-breakup promiscuity thing but i think i've realised i'm too lazy to be promiscuous seeing as how it involves a lot of leaving the house and talking to new people. might start internet dating and make a thread about it. also i have to go and read a lot now. thx for listening
everyone needs a lost weekend for a while before they regain their senses, it's in the post-breakup contract
11:40pm: am hammered and hot guy keeps looking at me but christ I'm tired and I'd quite like to catch up on Game of Thrones can we not just get on with this.
Glad you're here to bring your classic brand of personality, humour and intellect to the mix. To be honest my love life got a lot better, because I'm in love with *you*.
to alert each other to xyloburns
(They're walkie-talkies and they're super-cool)
Didnt do much last night. Love life is void, thanks for asking. I quite fancy a chavvy girl who works at the bookies near me so thats "hopeful"
as a look it completely does it for him. It's interesting, that.
should be treatd with discretion, not boasted about on a public forum.
GET BELOW STAIRS CHESERAY I CAN NOT BE SEEN TO BE A-DIDDLING YOU WHILE THE WORKHOUSE IS BEHIND IN ITS OUTPUTTERIES.
Definitely keep it up
since Theo has had his break down and is refusing to delete thigs, I need the defence of *I was joking* to be plausable for all of my posts.
I saw her in real life once. She was looking really pissed off and it made her positively scary.
(obvs she will, they love football and that)
and failing and then putting it in the freezer for me to make a taxidermy bird out of it.
my dad is brilliant <3
The smell is making me unhappy.
I drank a fair amount yesterday. WIND DAY.
It's only purple in one flash of it, where it was ultra white blonde before. I'm giong home at lunch time to wash my hair three times and try to get it out. What's that shampoo that's meant to be good for stripping colour, is it vosene?
and yes it's vosene.
Nobody is allowed to say groovy. I've sent out for emergency vosene.
Bit scared to use anything red or dark. Waaah. It's REALLY noticeable at the front of my hair.
I use head and shoulders when I'm stripping colour.
I'm not doing any work today.
I am reformatting an online data room that is mostly in norwegian, so I quite fancy shooting myself in the face! Going to smoke fags on the roof at lunchtime as it's dead sunny <3
Supposed to be having the bastille and swiss lips people round for some food and drink at mine tonight but i think this data room is going to keep me at my desk all night. BOo. I wish you were here. (in glasgow, if not really in my office).
bizarrely enough he was a roommate of my co-worker at uni. I only recently discovered this.
Say hello from me. (not to the Norwegian data room)
I need to sort out a visit, actually. Are you still down on the <insert correct date here>?
so I wouldn't be able to make it down until the saturday and they are bneing so bloody tricksy about holidays- if I can get the monday off I'll still come down though.
Please come up to visit agin too though! Celtic connections is good this year I think.
It makes your hair squeaky clean. let me see how I get on with the vosene first.
drinking red wine with new lady. Been single for quite a long time but the situation is pretty damn good at the minute.
bit of a headache and so so so hungry today. Going to see Efterklang tonight.
took a day off to spend with the thinly as it's her half term, watched 'breakfast at tiffany's' in bed then went to the pictures to see 'captain phillips' which was truly impressive - particularly the final sequences.
today is all bananas and tea and not much work to do and then later meeting the lady in some dive or other for a g&t i don't doubt.
consequently I now have no work, have eaten my lunch, and have to be here another 5-odd hours =(
On the plus side I did quite a good tweet this morning and just picked a really gross scab off my elbow.
I was the first into work this morning, felt really smug turning up 20 minutes before my boss. Think it's taking its toll on me though as I attempted to walk out of Sainsbury's without paying for my lunch just now...
Off to see Efterklang tonight in that there London, can't wait.
